Update.
Now to the poaching department, our manger Mr. Trevor Stafford of http://www.loughcurrane.com/ reported that Mr. Conal Frazer, caught 3 Sea Trout.


Mr. Drew Brown and Mr. John Moorhouse, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly, caught 5 Sea Trout, ranging from Junior class up to just over the 2lbs, Mr Paddy Barrett fishing with his Gillie Mr. Brod O’Sullivan, caught 2 Juniors, Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy, caught 2 Juniors with his client. Mr Frank Donnelly, reported to me that in the past two days that Cork Anglers, Mr. Donal O’Reilly and Mr. Phil Cronin, caught 18 Sea Trout.

Mr. Garry Watton, of the UK, was in good form again, with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, they caught 6 Sea Trout, which I might add they sportingly put back to fight another day. Mrs. Yvonne Moorhouse caught 2 juniors with her Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly, and her husband Mr. John Moorhouse caught 4 Juniors with his Gillie Mr. Brod O’Sullivan. Mr. Neil O’Shea, and his guest caught 1 Junior, Dublin angler, Mr. Sean Kestell, caught 5 Sea Trout on the troll, ranging from Juniors up to 1.5lbs, with his gillie Mr. Tom O'Shea.

Some Anglers, saw some good action, Belfast anglers, fishing with Mr. Terence Wharton Jnr caught 5 Sea Trout on the fly, Mr. Chris O’Sullivan, caught 2 Juniors with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, and last but not least, Mr. Donagh McCarthy of the USA and Waterville caught 11 Sea Trout, with his Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy. On the weather front the same as yesterday.

Straight to the poaching department, I see on http://www.loughcurrane.com/ that on the higher Lakes, there was some action, and the facts are as follows, Mr. Vincent Donnelly, caught a few Juniors and added 2 Brown Trout in the 1.5lbs class, now we head down steam to Lough Na Mona, Mr. Chris Watson fishing with his Gillie Mr. Roger Baker, caught 2 Juniors. Now to Lough Currane, just a few Juniors caught but no real rod benders, I say no rod benders, you try and tell that to Mr. Ger McCarthy and party, fishing in a hired out boat, they caught 12 sea trout raging from Juniors up to 1.¾ lbs, now we head down stream to the Butler Pool, Cork angler, Mr. Anthony Buckley, caught a 4lbs Grilse, which gave Anthony the Grand Slam of fishing, because in the last few days , he has caught a Salmon on the Commeragh River then headed down stream, and caught a Grilse on Lough Currane, and finished his grand slam on the Butler pool.

Cork angler Mr. Anthony Buckley, fishing with his Gillie, Mr. Tom O’Shea, caught 1 Junior, staying with Sea Trout department, Mr Colin and PJ Lynham, fishing with their gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer caught 6 Juniors, now for a mixture of Salmon and Sea Trout, Mr. John Baller of the UK, fishing out of http://www.butlerarms.com/ with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, caught a 4lbs Grilse on the troll, and finished the day off with a fine 1.5lbs Sea Trout, Cork Angler, Mr. Gerry O’Sullivan, caught a Grilse on the troll, in the hired out boat department, there was one Salmon caught by an Angler fishing on his own, now we head up stream to the Commeragh River, an Angler, caught a fine Grilse, and just for the record the same angler caught a Grilse and a few Sea Trout on Lough Currane earlier in the week. On the early shift, Mr. Colin and PJ Lynham, caught 10 Sea Trout, ranging from Junior class up to 2lbs, with their Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, Mr. Lynham Snr, was telling me that he and his Son, have been coming to the Waterville Fishery, for a good many years, and it’s the best weeks fishing they have had, and their gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, got a very good mention, praise indeed. Now to the Salmon department, Cork Angler Mr. Anthony Buckley, caught a fine 5.4ozs Grilse on the troll, with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, Mr. john Baller of the UK fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, caught 2 Juniors on the fly, and staying with the fly, Mr. Drew Brown fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly caught 6 Juniors, Mr. Jamie Booth and his Brother, caught 2 fine Sea trout, ranging from Junior class up to 2.5lbs, Guests fishing with their Gillie Sylvester Donnelly, caught 3 Juniors on the troll, and Mr. Frank Donnelly, caught 1 junior with his Guest, there was a fine 7.5lbs specimen Sea Trout, caught on the fly by Mr. O’Sullivan of Lake road Waterville, fishing with his Brother Mr. Kevin O’Sullivan. Wind SW light to calm and overcast with light rain for most of the afternoon.

Up Date,
Now to the poaching department, our Manger Mr. Trevor Stafford of http://www.loughcurrane.com/ is reporting that Mr. Roger Baker and his guest caught 2 Trout on Lough Na Mona and on Lough Derriana, Mr. Derek Mulcahy caught a fine Sea trout of 3lbs and added 2 smaller Trout to his basket, now we go down stream to the Commeragh river, Cork angler, Mr. Anthony Buckley caught a 7.5lbs Salmon.


Mr. Barrett fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly, caught a fine 6lbs Grilse on the troll, staying in the trolling department, Mr Dan Sugrue of Tralee and Waterville fishing with his Gillie Mr. Brod O’Sullivan, caught a 9lbs Salmon, Mr. Colin and P J Lynham, fishing with their Gillie Mike O’Dwyer, caught 2 salmon, weighing in an 9lbs and 6lbs, and added 4 Sea Trout up to 2lbs to their basket, staying with the Sea Trout, Mr. Eddie Blanche fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, caught 2 Juniors on the drift. Mr. Sion Brain, caught 9 Sea Trout on the troll. Now to the hired out boat department, Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, reported to me that, Mr. Ned Terrell and his fishing party, caught 16 Sea Trout, between their two boats, from Junior Class up To 3lbs in the past 2 days

Update
straight to the poaching department, I was reading on http://www.loughcurrane.com/ our Manger Mr. Trevor Stafford, is reporting that Mr. Brendan Kelly and Mr. Pat Browne, fishing on Lough Derriana, caught 5 Sea trout up to 1lbs and a couple of Brown Trout, staying with Lough Derriana, Mr. Malcolm Sergeant of the UK, caught 6 Juniors and kept 3 for the pan. now we go down stream, back to Lough Currane, Mr. Brendan Spillan caught four Sea Trout



Mr. Colin and PJ Lynham, fishing on Copal Lake with their Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, caught 10 Sea trout, 8 of which were Juniors and 2 Sea Trout from 2lbs up to 2.5lbs and they finished the day off with two fine Brown ranging from 1.5lbs up to 2.5lbs. A guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. frank Donnelly, caught a fine Grilse on the troll, Mr. Kevin McNamara caught 2 Juniors on the drift with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, Mr. John Baller of the UK fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea. caught 2 Grilse, ranging from 3lbs up to 4lbs caught on the troll. Update.
In the hired out boat department, Miss Rosie Baker caught her first ever Sea Trout, weighing in at 1.5lbs and here Father, added four more Sea Trout to their Basket


Mr. Dan Sugrue caught a fine Grilse on the Butler Pool, fishing with his Gillie, Mr. Brod O’Sullivan, now we head up stream to Lough Currane, Mr Colin and PJ Lynham were in excellent form again with their Gillie, Mr. Mike O’Dwyer when they caught Two Grilse and 6 Sea Trout on the troll, and four Sea trout on the fly, and just for the record they also lost 2 grilse, now we head to the drifting department, Mr. Drew Brown and Mr. John Moorhouse caught 3 Sea Trout, a guest fishing with Mr. Bob Priestly caught 2 juniors on the fly, Co Laois Angler Mr. Eddie Blanche caught 3 juniors, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, Mr. John Baller of the UK fishing out of http://www.butlerarms.com/ caught 2 Sea Trout on the troll, with his Gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea, now to the upper Lakes and Lough Derriana, Mr. Roger Baker caught a couple of Sea Trout.

Fishing update

Mr. Wishart from Co Down caught 9 Sea trout ranging from Juniors up to 3lbs

A new week, and a good start, on the Butler pool, Mr. Collin and PJ Lynham, fishing with their gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, caught 2 Grilse., both in the 5lbs class, now we head upstream to Lough Currane, Mr. Michael Reger fishing in a hired out boat, caught 3 Juniors on the troll, staying in the trolling department, An angler fishing on his own, also caught 3 juniors, Mr. John Baller of the UK fishing out of http://www.butlerarms.com/ caught 2 Juniors on the troll, with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, Mr. Sean Henry of http://www.moyolaangling.com/ caught 3 fine Sea Trout, from Junior class up to 2lbs fishing with his Gillie, Mr. Vincent Appleby, and just for the record there a few boats out and of as yet no reports of any real rod benders. Wind SW light to fresh, with good cloud cover, plus the odd shower.

Straight to the poaching department, I was reading on http://www.loughcurrane.com/ that our manger Mr. Trevor Stafford, reported that Rik and Crstal Van Wyngart, caught 50 Sea Trout for their 6 days fishing, of which their biggest was 5lb, and just for the record they were all put back to fight another day, and staying with the poaching department, Mr. James and Sean Linehan caught 20 Sea Trout to their boat on Derriana, now we head down stream back to Lough Currane and Mr. Ferguson and his fishing party from Inverness Scotland, caught 15 Juniors. the photo you see is of the Ferguson Fishing party.

Mr. Bill Rushby fishing with his Gillie Mr Dominic Mc Gillicuddy caught 5 Sea Trout, ranging from Junior class up to 4lbs, staying with the fly only department, Mr. Mark Dorman fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly, caught 6 Sea Trout on the drift ranging from Junior class up to 3.5lbs. Mr. Michael Roden fishing with his Gillie Mr. Junior Scully, caught 2 sea Trout, Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville Boats, also caught a couple of Juniors as did a guest fishing with Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan. In the C&R department, Belgium anglers fishing in a hired out boat, caught 3 Sea Trout, ranging from junior class up to 5lbs. Dr. Tim Gleason, fishing with his gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, caught 4 Sea Trout, staying with Dr. Tim Gleeson, in the afternoon fishing on his own he added 2 more Sea Trout to his basket, now to the trolling department, Mr. Mick Quilligan of Cork, fishing with his Gillie Mr. John Griffin, caught 4 Sea trout, ranging from Junior class up to 1.5lbs. Staying in the trolling department Mr. John Baller fishing with his gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, caught 2 Sea trout. Now we head for the higher Lakes, and Lough Namona, Mr. Frank Donnelly, fishing with his guest, caught 1 Junior, and Frank was telling me that his client lost a cracker of a Sea trout, in the 5 to 6lbs class give or take, but that’s fishing, but I can tell you that’s not what Frank said, so the least said the soonest mended. Wind S light and overcast with heavy rain for most of the afternoon and so heavy in fact its made another big flood.

Update
On the evening shift Mr. Stephen Galvin, caught four juniors and two fine brown Trout in the 1.5 class.


There was another small flood this morning, but this didn’t deter my noble anglers from procuring my Noble game fish. First to the trolling department, Mr. John Baller of the UK, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, caught two Grilse, John’s fish weighed in at 4lbs and 6lbs, and John finished the day off with 2 juniors, also in good for was Mr. Michael Roden, fishing with his Gillie Mr. junior Scully, Michael, caught a fine Grilse and finished the day off with 1 sea Trout. Now to the total fly only department, local Angler Mr. Tony O’Sullivan caught 2 2lbs Sea Trout in Coffees Bay, sadly Tony couldn’t make it a hat trick, but that fishing, staying with fly only, Mr. Bill Rushby fishing with his gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy caught 5 sea trout in the Junior class. In the hired out boat department an angler, caught 2 Sea Trout. Just for the record the Waterville Angling Centre, reported to me that Higher Lakes are fishing well, so if you want a taste of the Upper Lakes you want to book now, Contact Mr. Kevin Braine of the Waterville Angling Centre, on 0876766986. Wind NNW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover.

In the total fly department, Mr. mark Knowles. Caught a fine 11lbs salmon in the mouth of the Commeragh and finished the day off with 5 Sea Trout, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy and talking of Sea Trout, local Gillie, Mr. Michael O'sullivan caught 3 Sea Trout 1.¾ 2,5lbs class, and there were a few Juniors caught on the drift by other fly anglers, as reported to me by local gillie Mr. Bob Priestly, now we head for the trolling department, Guests Fishing with their Gillie Mr. Vincent Appleby, caught a Grilse and 1 Junior. Wind WSW light and overcast with the odd light shower.

Mr. Ian Campbell caught a 6lbs Grilse on the troll, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly, and in the hired out boat department, German Angler Mr. Michael Reger caught 2 grilse, plus 6 Sea trout, all caught on the troll, now for the total fly department, Mr. John Buckley of Killarney, caught a fine Grilse on the drift, in the Sea trout department, Mr. Mark Knowles caught 3 Sea Trout, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy. In the taking short department, Mr. John Murphy was telling me that he and his Guests had a good few Juniors taking short.

Update
Belgian Anglers, fishing out of the Bungalow, caught 9 Sea Trout


There was a fine 5lbs Grilse caught on the fly, on the famous Butler Pool, by the Prince, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan, Now we head upstream to Lough Currane, and the fly department, anglers fishing in a hired out boat, caught 3 Juniors. Stephen from Sheffield, caught his first Sea Trout on the fly, and caught 2 on the troll with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, also in good form was Mr. Ken Towner, of the UK and Waterville, caught 3 juniors on the drift, staying with the fly, with a mixture of Salmon and Sea Trout, Mr. Mark Knowles, caught 6 Sea trout and a fine 5lbs Grilse, fishing with his gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy, and last but not least, in the trolling department, Mr. R. Dee caught 2 Sea Trout in the 1.lbs class and lost two Grilse, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent Appleby. Wind SE light to fresh and overcast with light rain in the morning and reasonably heavy this evening.

12/7/10 Mr. Kevin O’Meara caught a fine 8lbs specimen Sea trout, on the troll, and staying in the trolling department, Mr. Dan Sugrue of Tralee and Waterville caught 8lbs Salmon on the troll with his Gillie Mr. Brod O’Sullivan. Now we go bach to the Sea trout department, and the hired out boat department, Anglers fishing in a hired out boat, caught 4 Sea Trout, staying with the hired out boats, Mr. Will Taylor of Dungannon, fishing in a hired out boat, caught 7 Juniors, Mr, Robert Woodside. Caught 4 Sea Trout, from Juniors up to 2.5lbs. local Gillie, Mr. Bob Priestly caught 2 Sea Trout up to 2lbs, Wind, E light to calm and overcast, with the light drizzle at times.

Mr. Kevin O’Sullivan, of Lake road Waterville, caught 3 Sea Trout up to 1.5lbs,Mr. Kevin Sionet, Mr. Jerry Dwyer, caught 12 Sea Trout, ranging from Juniors up to 3lbs, Mr Nick Bell caught 6 Sea Trout, Mr. Alan Houlian and Mr. Brian Barry caught 15 Sea Trout, from Jubiors up to 3lbs, now we cut across the Lake to the North Side, Mr. Denis McArthur, caught 6 Sea trout, Mr. John Whelan, caught 5 Sea Trout from Juniors up to 5.5lbs, Mr. Will Taylor caught 3 Juniors, Mr. Breen, caught 3 Sea Trout from Juniors up to 2.5lbs, Mr. Brian Maybury, caught 6 Sea Trout ranging from Juniors up to 3.5lbs, Mr O’Connor, caught 4 Sea Trout. Now For a mixture of Salmon and Sea Trout, Mr. Kevin Crowley and Mr. Neil Spellacy caught 11 Sea Trout, and finished the day off with a Salmon, and Just for the record Their Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, informed me that they returned all the Sea Trout, now for catch of the day with two Sea Trout caught on the troll, goes to, two young Lady’s, Miss, Georgia and Leah O’Dwyer, fishing with their Dad and well know local Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, now back to the fly department, Mr. Mark knawels and Mr. Finbar Donavaghon fishing with their Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy, caught 7 Sea Trout, from Juniors up to 3lbs, Mr Chris Barret, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly, caught 6 Sea Trout on the fly, ranging from Juniors up to 2lbs, in the trolling department, Mr. Vincent Appleby, caught four Sea Trout, all in the Junior class. Now we head for the upper Lakes and Loch NA Mona, a guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, caught 1 sea trout. Now we head across the valley to the River Inny, Local Gillie Mr. Terence Wharton Jnr, caught 1 Salmon and just for the record there was a good spate coming down the Commeragh and there a good few Anglers manipulating early this morning and at present there is no reports of any rod benders, but you can be sure there were a few fish caught?. Wind SSE light to calm with light rain for most of the day, amount of rainfall 0.6mm, max air temperature 16.7c.

There was some good action on Lough Currane, I will start at the Bog, and the fly department, Cork Anglers, Mr. Pat O’ Mahony and son Tim, caught four Sea Trout, two in the 3lbs Class, and 2 in the 2.5lbs class, Mr. Bob Priestly, caught 1 Junior on the troll, now we head further down the north shore to the Bungalow, Mr. Malcolm Bell, caught 6 Sea trout, 4 on the fly and 2 on the troll, from juniors up to 2lbs, and staying along the north shore, The Prince fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan, caught a 3lbs Sea Trout on the fly, now we head across to the south side, Mr. Tony O'Sullivan of Cahersiveen, caught 2 Juniors on the fly, Mr. Donie and Denis Collins, fishing in a hired out boat, caught a fine 5.¾ lbs Sea Trout and 3 Juniors, on fly, staying with the south side . Mr. Gerry O’Sullivan caught a fine fresh Grilse, on the troll, this morning Mr. steven Galvan caught 3 juniors on Lough Currane, befor heading off to the upper Lakes and Loch Na Mona, Steven caught 3 Sea trout, 2 at 2.5lbs and 1 Junior, on the fly. Weather the same as yesterday in all departments.

Mr. C Clifton, caught a 7lbs Grilse on the fly on the famous Butler Pool, now we head upstream to Lough Currane, Local angler Mr. Tony O’Sullivan, caught 3 Juniors on the troll on the south side of the lake, also in good form in the trolling department, were Dutch clients, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Kevin Brain, of the Waterville Angling Centre, caught 6 Sea Trout up to 1.5lbs. In the fly department, the Prince, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan, caught a 3lbs Sea Trout, staying with the fly, a Guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, caught 1 junior. On the weather front the same as yesterday. Just for the record it made 16.7mm of rainfall yesterday and still falling.

Update
In the hired out boat department, Mr Phil Hawker, caught a fine 6lbs Grilse on the fly and finished day off with a few Juniors and Mr Chris Wallace, also fishing in a hired out boat, caught a few Juniors.

On the early shift, a client, fishing with his Gillie Mr Terence Wharton Jnr, caught two Sea trout and finished the morning off with a fine Grilse. Now for a mixture of fly and troll, Mr. Don Franklin and Mr. Don Thomson, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, caught four Sea trout, from the junior class up to 2,5lbs, two on the fly and two on the troll, now for the fly only department, Mr. Nick Park of the UK and Waterville, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly, caught 2 Juniors on the fly, and staying with the fly, a guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, caught 1 Sea Trout, and lost one, in the C&R department, Mr. Vincent Appleby, caught 5 Sea Trout on the troll, ranging from the Junior class up to 1.5lbs. Just for the record there were a few boats this evening, and at present, there is no reports of any real rod benders. Wind SE and then veered SW once the rain had gone through, come 3pm the heavens opened and I can tell you it wasn’t long before there was white water coming down the mountain.

There was some fine Sea trout action, both on the fly and the troll. I will start with the troll, clients, fishing with there Gillie Mr. Vincent Appleby, caught 3 sea trout, ranging from the junior class up to 1.5lbs, now for a mixture of fly and troll, Mr. Don Thomson and Mr. Don Franklin, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, caught four Sea Trout, two on the fly and two on the troll, all in the Junior class, staying with the troll, clients fishing with their Gillie Mr Bob Priestly also caught 5 Juniors on the troll, clients fishing with their Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, caught for Sea Trout, again a mixture of fly and troll, Mr. Rob Wasmuth of the UK and Waterville, caught 5 Juniors on the fly and 1 Junior on the troll with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan. Now to the total fly department, Kilkenny anglers, Mr. Tom Duggan and Mr. Tom Nugent caught 4 Juniors in the Mouth of the Commeragh, with their Gillie Mr Dominic Mc Gillicuddy. Just for the record there were a good few Boats out on Lough Currane and I would be very surprised if they didn’t see some action. Now we head out of Laugh Currane, and up to the Commeragh River, Cork Anglers caught four Sea Trout, in the 2 to 3lbs class, on the fly, Staying with the Commeragh, Mr. Mike Teahan of Waterville caught a Grilse. Wind W then veered SW late this afternoon, bright and sunny, but there was reasonable cloud cover at times.

Update
Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy, has informed me that his clients, Mr. Tom Duggan and Mr. Tom Nugent, also caught a Grilse, in the mouth of the Commeragh.
Lough Currane was on the wild side, so I will start on the Butler Pool, Mr. Steven Duffy, caught a 6lbs Grilse on the fly with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, staying with the famous Butler Pool and of http://www.watervillegolflinks.com/ Mr. Tom Corcoran caught a fine Grilse. Now we head upstream to Lough Currane, there was a strong Southerly wind and at times veered SE, but this didn’t deter anglers heading out, to catch my noble game fish, Mr. Brian Sheil, caught a fine 1.5lbs Sea Trout and 1 Brown Trout, and his Father, Leslie caught a couple of Juniors, all were caught on the troll on the south side of the lake, with their Gillie Mr. Vincent Appleby, now we head to the north side to the Commeragh, Mr Tom Duggan and his Grandson Mr. Tom Nugent, caught 4 Sea Trout, 3 in the 2lbs class and one Junior, all caught on the fly, with their Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy, now for a mixture of fly and troll, Mr. Anthony Buckley, caught 5 Sea Trout, 4 on the troll and 1 on the fly, with his gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, staying in the trolling department, Mr. Don Thomson and Mr. Dom Franklin, fishing with their gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, caught two juniors on the troll, and Last but not least Mr. James Henchey of the UK caught one Sea trout on the troll, with his gillie Mr. Bob Priestly. Lough Currane was on the wild side this morning, but it didn’t deter some anglers from pontificating, first in the striking zone, with two Juniors, caught on the fly, were Mr Mark O’Halloran and Mr. Pat Kennedy, clients fishing with their Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly, caught 9 Juniors on the fly. Now for a mixture of fly and troll, Greg and Martin Sutton of the UK caught four Juniors, 3 on the fly 1 on the troll, with their gillie Mr. Tom Shea, Mr. Colin James caught a 2lbd Sea Trout and Mr. Jim Young, caught a 4lbs Sea Trout and finished the day off with a 3lbs Sea Trout, both Anglers were fishing with their Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer. Kilkenny Angler, Mr. Tom Nugent caught one sea trout with his Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy. Now we head up stream for the Commeragh River, Mr. Terence Wharton Jnr caught 6lbs Grilse. Wind SW fresh to strong and over cast, with the odd light shower.

You brought me luck! I met you in the tackle shop on Friday morning on the way to Derriana. Caught a half dozen juniors, two sea trout to 2lbs, 2 brownies to 2lbs and a grilse to top it off. Day of days!!!
Cork Angler Tim O’Connor caught a fine lightening fresh Grilse on The Butler Pool, now we head up Stream, to Lough Currane, where there was some good action, I will start in the Mouth of the Commeragh, there were two Grilse caught on the fly by the Prince, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan, and the action didn’t stop there, because Mr Bill Rushby, caught a fine 8lbs salmon and a Grilse on the fly,also in good form was Mr. Brian Macnaughton with two Sea Trout, ranging from 1.5lbs to 2lbs, now we go to the trolling department, Mr. Jamey Bomford, caught a fine Grilse and four Sea Trout, with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, also in good form with four juniors, were clients, fishing with Mr. Frank Donnelly, now for a mixture of fly and troll Mr. Colin James and Mr. Jim Young caught 3 Sea Trout, one of which was caught on the fly. Clients, fishing with Mr. Vincent Appleby caught two Juniors and lost a salmon on the troll. Now to the hired out boat department. Darren O’Sullivan, caught 7 Sea trout ranging from Junior class up to 1.5lbs and also caught a fine Brown Trout 1.¾ lbs Now we head across the Lake to the north side, where Donegal Angler, Mr. Michael Bonner, caught a fine 7.5lbs Sea Trout, fishing in a hired out boat, now we head up steam to the Commeragh River where there was a fine Salmon caught by Mr. Kevin Brain of the Waterville Angling Center, staying with the Commeragh, The supreme Commander and Head Chef, of the Huntsman Restaurant, Mr. Avylak Hitmiangsong, caught two Grilse, both in the 4 to 5lbs class,

Where do I begin, I will tell you where, Lough Currane and the trolling department, it was A Father and Son combination of Mr. Ted and Nigel Robertson, that caught 7 juniors with there Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly, now we have a mixture of fly and troll, Mr. Colin James and Mr. Jim Young, caught two Sea Trout on the fly and 7 Sea Trout on the troll, ranging from the junior class up to 2lbs with their Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer. Now we head up stream to the Commeragh River where it was like Times Square in all departments and for good reason, there was one almighty flood coming down the Commeragh, but that didn’t deter My Noble anglers from catching my Noble Fish, first in the striking zone, Mr. Terence Wharton Jnr caught 3 Sea Trout all in the 2lbs class and lost a fine Salmon, staying with the Commeragh, and catch of the Day goes to Mr. Chris Blackham of Cork, because he caught a fine 9lbs 12ozs Sea Trout on the Black Birds Fancy, and was officially was weighed at the Waterville Angling Centre, after having his sea trout weighed in, Chris headed back to the Commeragh and caught a 7lbs salmon. Wind SW fresh, with reasonable cloud cover, and just for the record Lough Currane was on the dirty side after the big flood.
There was 37.6mm of rainfall yesterday, and the total rainfall for the month of June was 83.9mm
