Lough Currane was on the wild side with a fresh to strong SW wind blowing and
only two boats reported that their lines were slack, so on that negative note
we head downstream to the world famous Butler Pool and www.watervillegolflinks.ie Currane US angler from New York, while fly
fishing, caught a fine Grilse for the frying pan and I can tell you the Wild
Atlantic skin of the Salmon slightly crispy is delicious and you may think I’m joking,
watch the grizzly strip the Wild Salmon skin and eat it, there’s a lot of goodness
in the Wild Salmon Skin. Just for the record I’m talking of Wild Salmon, So don’t
argue with Grizzly. Wind already stated and overcast all day and light misty
rain.

28/7/2023 Straight out on to Lough Currane and into the fly department, renowned Kilkenny and Currane fly angler Mr. Tom Dugan
fishing out of www.thecrescentwaterville.ie
caught a fine Grilse and finished his day off with two C&R Sea Trout, while flyfishing with his renowned Gillie the
flyman Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com
and for the rest of the Currane angers it was all quiet, you could say they had
Inny syndrome? Now we motor across the Valley to the River Inny and back to yesterday’s
manipulations, the Inny Farmer got some good news from one angler, who caught and
released 3 Grilse of which the biggest was in the 4 lbs class all caught on the
spin, staying on the C&R Inny, the Inny farmer today reported that two Salmon
were caught today on the fly. Wind WSW light to fresh followed strong gusts at
times and overcast.
Now we head
for an anglers opinion on my reporting on the Waterville Fishery, so the stage
is yours Martin so take it away Sir. Photo's like these are all too common on
your site, when is the realization that 'soon there will be none' going to kick
in, or are you all hell bent on ruin? If so 'Good Luck', and stop posting hard
luck reports, you reap what you sow!

Catch of the 2023 Season so far goes Kilkenny Currane angler Mr. Tom Duggan
while trolling with his gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com caught a cracker of a 15 lbs. Salmon, for the rest of the
Currane anglers it was all quiet and envious I wonder why? Now we head across
the valley to the C&R river Inny, it was reported to me by the Inny farmer,
there was at least 3 caught and a few trout, as promised amount of rainfall
yesterday was 20.4 mm.
26/7/2023 The Currane anglers were all quiet on this day, so on that note, we head downstream to the world famous Butler Pool at www.watervillegolflinks.ie UK Currane angler Mr. Tom Boardman while fly fishing with his gillie Mr Neil O'Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught 1 salmon on the fly. Wind S veered SW light and overcast, amount of rainfall I will give you all the facts in tomorrow's notes.
25/7/2023, Lough Currane anglers again all had slack lines on this bright and sunny day. I can confirm there was one Inny angler manipulating on the C&R River Inny. Now to the weather, the Irish meteorologic service is forecasting flash floods for Kerry tomorrow, only time tell. Wind light and variable.
