Ronan RIP
September 23: 2025. I start today’s notes on the sad news that Currane C&R fly angler Mr. Ronan Grady, RIP of Lismorris. Lissycassey of Co Clare sadly passed away yesterday to the Heavenly clear waters as the fish run freely, as Ronan and his fellow Heavenly fly anglers catch and release their heavenly fish. May Ronan Rest In Peace. Ronan was a regular angler to the Waterville fishery and on behalf of the Currane anglers and the good people of Waterville and Kerry we send our Sincere Sympathies to all his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by the fishing community.

Now head out on to Lough Currane and here are the facts of the day. There were 6 boats out, two Salmon were reported caught on the troll and few trout caught and released on the drift. Now to today’s Currane weather conditions wind variable gentle to moderate ESE veered SE, SSE, S, followed by reasonable cloud cover at times. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 0.0mm, maximum air temperature 15,0°C, amount of sunshine 10 minutes 2 minutes.
