August 4, 2025: No catch and release reports for Salmon or Seatrout, including the river Inny. Today's Currane anglers weather report: moderate northwest wind, with periods of reasonable cloud cover and occasional showers. Yesterday’s weather amount rainfall 8.2mm, maximum air temperature 16.7°C, amount of sunshine 6 hours 4 minutes. New regulations for the 2026 season have just been received. Latest news today, the board of IFI have recommended to minister Dooley that all salmon fisheries, private and state will be on a catch and release basis from the 1st of January. Last smolts will be released next spring and hatchery closes. They want all hatchery fish returning to cong to be trapped and killed and dumped. Sorry state of affairs. Just for the record I haven’t had this confirmed by Inland fisheries Ireland.
