There was some great action on Lough Currane today, I will start in the salmon department, first in the striking zone was Mr. Rob Wasmuth of the UK and Waterville, who caught a fine 8lbs Salmon on the troll with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, also in good form was local Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley who caught a 10lbs Salmon on the troll on the south side, but catch of the day goes to Mr. Clancy, who caught the first Grilse this season, caught this morning and finished the day off with a fine Seatrout of 5lbs 5oz, fishing with his gillie Mr. Sean Brain. Wind S light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover and talking of cloud cover there are signs that rain is on the way? which will be no harm, because Lough Currane is in need of liquid refreshment.

It was a wild day on Waterville Lake/Lough Currane with a strong North wind blowing but that didn't deter Mr. John Bojtor of the UK from going and catching a fine 4lbs Seatrout on the troll with his Gillie Mr Mike O’Dwyer and Mike was telling me that john and he had some real bad luck with five Salmon lost in the past week and one of them was a cracker which John hooked on the fly but the rascal lives to fight another day, but at least they saw some good action but sadly no rewards until today. Wind as already stated.
