Made another flood, and on on the Sea Trout front, Mr. Andrew Brown fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley, caught a fine 3lbs Sea trout on the fly, and for the rest of we anglers yes we failed miserably in our duties.

There were a few boats out manipulating their flies but alas they failed miserably in their duties, but to be fair to my Noble Angers, the elements were against them at times due to the lack of wind.

Straight too the action Mr. Andrew Brown fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley caught a fine 5lbsGrilse off the point of Grassy Island, now To the Sea Trout department and the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com The Killarney Anglers caught 4 Sea trout to their boat and also in good form was Mr. John Cahill and Mr. Phil McCarthy, they caught 3 Sea Trout up to 2lbs, and staying in Franks Hired out boat department, in the last few days Mr Liam Falkner caught a fine 4lbs Grilse and 1 Sea Trout, and good friend Mr. Shane McLaughlin caught a 2 juniors which he sportingly put back. Wind NNW light with reasonable cloud cover at times.

Dr. Tim Gleason

No reports of any great catches on Lough Currane, my Noble Olympics are taking centre stage, or more too the point my Noble anglers are failing miserably in their duties. So we will head up stream too the famous Butler Pool and of www.watervillegolflinks.ie Dr. Tim Gleason caught 3 fine Salmon as you can see Tim gave the London Olympics a miss.

27/712 Sea Trout Update


I stand corrected, Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com reported too me that one of his hired out boats caught a fine Sea Trout and a Junior on the drift.              







Sorry for the delay, I was watching the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, now too Lough Currane, sadly my nobler Anglers didn’t perform as well as the opening ceremony, need I say more.

My Noble Game Fish were in a lethargic Mood on Lough Currane today, well that’s a Anglers point of view, on a reality point of view you can say without any fear of contradiction We failed miserably in our duties. Wind NW light too fresh with bright sunshine.

All the Head line go to Mr. Tim O’Sullivan of Killarney fishing with his Good friend Mr. Phil Horan, caught a fine specimen Sea Trout of 2.922kg on the fly on a gorgeous George, and just for the record, Tim is no stranger in catching my specimen Game Fish and I will let the Photos tell the rest of the story because they speak for them selves, now we head down stream too the famous Butler pool and of www.watervillegolflinks.ie Mr. Donal Eustace fishing with his Gillie Mr. Junior Scull caught 2 Salmon ranging from 4.5lbs up to 12lbs will put photos up later and i can tell they worth waiting for.

Straight to the Sea Trout department A Guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelley and of www.lakelandshouse.com caught one Junior and as the conditions were flat calm and overcast light rain all day, they did well too catch my noble Sea Trout and for the rest of we Anglers we failed miserably in our duties be it fly or troll, now too the lost rod department, Mr. Steve Sutton, lost a Sage fly Fishing rod while on Lough Currane and if you come across this Rod would you please drop it into Lakeland’s Guest Lake road Waterville.

Straight too catch of the day and that goes too Mr.
Mike Galligan of Limerick, Caught 8 Salmon and 2 Sea Trout on the fly of which 5 Salmon and the Sea Trout were returned, and His Gillie and Master Fly Fishermen Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com  was telling me that this was Mikes First Salmon fly, so congratulations to Mike and welcome too the big time in the fly department, now to the Sea trout department, Mr. John Smith fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea and of www,oshealoughcurrane.com caught 2 Sea trout on the fly, also in good form was Mr. Ted Aherne who was fishing with his brother-in-law Mr. Liam Ellis of Waterville, caught two fine Sea Trout ranging from 1.lbs up to 2lbs Wind SSW fresh too strong and overcast with rain for most of the day. Just for the record Have pictures but can’t down load net too slow but the photo record will be put up.

 Mr. James Hinchey of the UK fishing out of www.butlerarms.com and with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com caught a 6lbs Grilse on the fly and his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy rang me too take a photo and I am sorry too say I couldn't because I was in Tralee Hospital too see my Father, once again sorry for that, now tot the Sea Trout department, Mr. Conor Henderson fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly and of www.lakelandshouse.com caught one Junior, now we cut across the Lake too North side, Mr. Derick Hinks, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught 2 Trout.

We Start on the early shift, Mr. Andrew Wishart and his Nephew Gavin of Co Down fishing on the famous Butler Pool and of www.watervillegolflinks.ie caught two fine Salmon ranging from 4.5lbs up to 9lbs, now we head upstream too Lough Currane and in the Salmon department Mr. Hans and John Bouman of Holland, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville Boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com caught a fine Grilse on the troll.

19/7/12 Update

Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com reported to me that Mr. Andrew Wishart of Co Down caught a 6.5lbs Salmon on the troll, and Michael also reported that on the 14/7/12 Mr.Mick Nctor of Dublin, caught 3 Sea Trout, 2.lbs,2lbs, 2.5lbs all caught on the fly




In the Sea trout department there were 6 Juniors caught and returned by Rick and Krystal from Belgium, fishing in a hired out boat from Mr. Tom O’Shea and @  tomfishing@eircom.net  and for the rest of we anglers you could say we failed miserably in our duties in all departments.

Straight too the hired out boat department of Mr. Tom O’Shea and @ tomfishing@eircom.net  Rick and Krystal from Belgium caught 6 Juniors all on the fly, and just for the record they were all returned, now to the Salmon department and the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com Mr Phil Marcarty and friends caught a 8lbs Salmon on the fly




My Noble Game Fish were in a lethargic mood on Lough Currane, but the same couldn’t said across the Valley on the River Inny and for good reason renowned Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, caught a 8.5lbs Salmon and finished his day off with a 5lbs Salmon.

17/7/12 Update


No we head up stream to the Commeragh River where Mike The Matador of the Bull Ring Tralee caught a fine 3lbs Sea Trout on the Garden Fly.    






Straight to the Salmon fly Department, Mr. Bill Rushby, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com caught a fine Grilse and finished his day off with a Sea Trout, after dropping Bill off after his good days fishing, his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy, took out The Prince and wasn’t long before the Prince had his fly rod bent double in a Grilse and the rest is history  because one swipe of the net my Noble Grilse was dispatched, now to the Sea Trout fly department Mr. Mark Doorman of Cork, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley, caught 6 Sea trout of which the best was 3lbs. Made another big flood early this morning and the Mouth of the Commeragh was very dirty so as you can imagine the best fly fishing stations were at a stand still for most of the day but this did stop my noble Angers from procuring my Noble Game Fish, first in the Salmon department, Mr. Diarmuld Devereux of Wexford, Caught a fine fresh Grilse on the troll, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea and @ tomfishing@eircom.net now too the Sea Trout fly department, Mr. Mike Galligan fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com caught four Sea Trout, and their weights are as follows two in the 3lbs class 1 in the 2lbs class and one in the 1lbs class, staying in the Sae Trout department Mr. I Smith of the UK, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught 2 Juniors. Wind SW light and overcast and veered NW this evening.

There were just a few Juniors caught, but I must emphasize There were a few Boats out manipulating their Flies, and if they didn’t faille in catching my noble Game fish they certainly did by not reporting their catches, so on that note we will head down stream too the famous Butler Pool and of www.watervillegolflinks.ie Mr. Noel Clancy of Dublin fishing with his Gillie Mr. Sion Brain and of www.kbfishingireland.com   caught a lightening fresh 8lbs Salmon. Wind SW light with rain this morning and overcast this afternoon.

Straight too the Sea Trout department, Mr. Malcolm Sergeant of the UK fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea and @ tomfishing@eircom.net  caught 3 Juniors, also in good form was Mr. Patsy Quilligan of Cork with two Juniors, now for catch and release of the day and that goes to Mr. Kevin O’Sullivan who caught a fine 5lbs Sea Trout on the fly within 20 minutes of going out this evening, anglers are saying its hard out there too catch my Noble Sea Trout I think Kevin would beg too differ, and just for the record yes its hard out there in the fly department but there is quite a few Sea Trout being caught on the troll even though they haven’t bean reported. Wind N and overcast.

Renowned Cork angler, Mr. Patsy Quilligan caught a fine 4lbs Sea trout which he sportingly put back and not satisfied with his days fishing on Lough Currane, he headed down stream too the famous Butler Pool and of www.watervillegolflinks.ie and caught himself a 9lbs Salmon

15lbs Salmon caught on the River Inny

Mr. Mark Knowles of the UK fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com was in good form with his fly rod, he caught a fine Grilse of 5lbs and caught two Sea Trout ranging from 1lbs up to 3lbs, Mr. Tim O’Mahony of Cork and his young son Antony caught 2 juniors and Tim was also telling me while Sea fishing he caught 6 fine Bass yesterday, now we head upstream too the Upper Lakes and Lough Namona, Mr. C Berkley fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught a 2.5lbs Sea Trout, now we cut across the Valley too the  River Inny and catch of the Day, Local Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer caught a 15lbs Salmon on the spin and I can tell you his clients Mr. PJ Lynham and his son Mr Colin Lynham of Dublin, were delighted as they watched Their Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, tackle my noble Salmon and it wasn’t long before my Noble Salmon was on the Bank for all to see. Wind S then Veered SW fresh and over cast with light misty rain and just for the record it made another flood early this morning.

Mr. Andy Wishart of Co Down

The wind may have bean in the north but at least my noble Anglers saw some reasonable action, in the Salmon department Mr. Andy Wishart of Co Down fishing out of Waterville boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com got a cracker of a Salmon of 8lbs on the troll and in the drifting department, renowned Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley caught a 5lbs Grilse, now to the Sea Trout fly department Mr. C Barkley, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught 2 Sea Trout on the drift, Mr. Mark Knowles of the UK, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com caught 2 Juniors and in the past few Days Mark has also caught a 6lbs specimen Sea trout a 5lbs Sea Trout and a few in the 2 to 3lbs class and were all returned. Staying with the Sea Trout Mr. Tom Hellson of the UK and his Brother-in-law, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Vincent Appleby and of www.salmonandseatrout.com caught 3 Sea Trout and a fine Brown Trout on the troll, and lost a fine Salmon. Also in good form Mr. Patsy Quilligan of Cork also caught a fine basket of Sea trout on the troll. Wind N then veered NW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover.

Mr. James Bomford of the UK caught a fine Grilse, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com now to the Sea Trout fly department, Mr. Liam Ellis of Waterville caught 2 Juniors, Mr. Quilligan of Cork caught a fine Sea Trout of 4lbs on the drift and a guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly and of www.lakelandshouse.com caught 1 Sea Trout on the troll,  now we go up stream to the upper Lakes and Lough Namona, Mr. Martin Sutton fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea and @ tomfishing@eircom.net caught one junior and just for the record yesterday Mr. Kevin O’Sullivan of Waterville, also fishing on Lough Namona caught one or two Juniors and thy were lightning fresh. Wind N light and overcast with the odd light shower.

Lough Curran was flat calm for most of the morning, but once the wind did get up some boats did see a bit of action but not a lot, Mr. Malcolm Sergeant of the UK caught 1 Sea Trout on the troll with his Gillie Mr. Vincent Appleby and of www.salmonandseatrout.comwww.salmonandseatrout.com and staying with the Sea Trout I saw one Angler catch a fine Sea trout on the drift and he sportingly put back My Noble Sea Trout, now to the lost department, Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com was telling that he and client lost a cracker of a Salmon 1n the 12 too 14lbs class and lightning fresh. Wind N then veered SW this evening with light rain this evening.

On the evening shift, Mr. Hughie Reid fishing out of  tomfishing@eircom.net  caught a 5lbs Grilse and finished his evening off with a Sea Trout of 1.5lbs.

On the Salmon and Sea Trout Fly department, my Noble Anglers had a good excuse there was little to wind, in the opinion of the Fly Master Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com need I say more.

4/7/12 Dominic McGillicuddy's day

Straight to the fly department, Mr. Bill Rushby Fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com caught 3 Salmon on the early shift, weighing in at 7lbs,6lbs, 4lbs, and finished his morning off with a fine Sea Trout in the 3lbs class, then it was the turn of  the Prince of the UK, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com  and I can tell you it was wasn’t long before he caught a 8lbs Salmon and not satisfied with that The Prince cast his flies out again and caught another Salmon in the 6lbs class and finished his day off with 3 Sea Trout up to 3lbs.now to the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com Mr. Michael Rieger caught a fine 2.5lbs Sea Trout. Wind SW light and overcast with heavy showers.

All quiet on the SW front and for good reason in the last 48 hours we had two floods and take the Mouth of the Commeragh it has bean dirty for the last two days, so as you can imagine my Noble fly anglers are waiting for the water to clean up and for the lake to settle down as all anglers are in all departments be it fly or troll. Wind SW light.

Mr. Jan Huisman

Straight to the  Mr. Jan Huisman of Holland who clamed him self the King of all the Salmon fishers on Lough Currane today and for good reason he caught his first ever Salmon on the troll weighing in at 6.5lbs and this was confirmed by his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com All I can say is may it  be the first of Many my Noble King, now to the Sea Trout department there were a few boats out manipulating but no reports of anything substantial. Wind SW light and overcast with heavy rain this morning and again this evening. Now we cut across to the River Inny and their was one Sea Trout caught by Mr. Michael Roden fishing with his Gillie Mr. Junior Scully.
