 30/6/21 All quiet on the day shift which is not surprising with a light breeze from the SW and bright sunshine all day and that sums up the day shift on the night shift watch this space.

29/6/21 Lough was like blazing saddles, but fair play a few anglers did go out this hot and calm day, on the evening shift all quiet. Going back to yesterday on the evening shift, their text said all quiet. Today’s weather as all ready stated. Wind N light but on the cold side this evening.

28/6/21 All quiet on all fronts on the day shift, come evening it was brought to my notice that there was at least one boat heading out for an evening session and as of yet the text department is all quiet, so watch this space. Wind NNE light and variable and very warm with the sun blazing down all day.

           Currane's Ladies Anglers of the Month Amy and Molly 

27/6/21 Another Ladies day on Lough Currane as the young O’Dwyer Sisters and Currane Anglers were in good form again in the trolling department and today’s Star is Miss Amy O’Dwyer who caught a fine 3 ½ lbs, Grilse, while fishing with her Dad and her sister Molly and as you can see by the photo there is two Gillie’s in the making and that’s no harm because we older Game fishing Anglers should remember anglers like Amy and Molly are tomorrow’s anglers. Wind NE fresh, bright and sunny all day.

26/6/21 Few Boats out this day with a few nice Sea Trout caught on the drift and by all accounts the Wild Atlantic Salmon were all quiet on all methods of trying to get a rod bender. Wind NE light, bright and sunny all day. Just for the record there were a few nice Grilse caught in the beginning of the week.

 Two Happy Anglers 

25/6/21 Today was Ladies Day on Lough Currane, Young Currane Angler Miss Molly O’Dwyer broke up from School at 12 pm as their summer holidays began in style by booking her Dad Michael Local Currane Angler for an afternoon’s fishing, come 2.30 pm Molly caught her first Salmon on the troll and the party began as you can see by the picture as Molly holds up her fine Salmon in celebration with her sister Amy. So, congratulations to Molly on her first Salmon and may it be the first of many and its double congratulations because Molly’s Salmon is fish of the month.  Wind light North and variable with reasonable cloud cover at times.

     Why, we Know Why

24/6/21 Straight to the department of come on you Currane anglers and all game anglers of Ireland, England, and all Salmon and Sea Trout Anglers from all over the World, when you fish and catch the poor Sea Trout smothered with Lice let the photo do the talking, as you can see by this photo sent to me, it tells of the sad position Currane is in.  Now we head for today’s catches, in total there were 5 Grilse caught on the troll and for one    promising fly angler while on the drift caught 6 Sea Trout and I believe the biggest was in the 3 lbs class? The Lice infested Sea Trout was about two lbs? Wind West light and overcast all day.

23/6/21 Four boats out and their lines were slack. On the weather front there was bright sunshine for most of the day, wind WNW light to fresh.

22/6/21 Six boats out and by all accounts their Salmon and Sea Trout logbooks and their blue tags stayed in their haversacks. Wind NNW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover at times.

21/6/21 Just two boats out this bright and sunny day and with all their efforts all they caught was a suntan. Wind ENE fresh.

20/6/21 Just one boat out and come lunchtime headed for the dryland and that sums up today’s lack of manipulations, need I say more. NNE light with reasonable cloud cover.

19/6/21 Lough Currane showed its anger today with a strong southerly wind blowing after yesterday’s sad news on the Salmon and Sea Trout lice department. Just for the record just one boat ventured out but by all accounts, nothing to report.

18/6/21 Sadly all the catching of Salmon and Sea Trout news have been put to one side this day and for good reason. I was sent a picture of a Sea Trout caught on the Waterville fishery today, the Sea Trout was covered in 35 Sea Lice I believe and as they say the picture tells the sick story! Wind NNW light with reasonable cloud cover and Blood pressure High.

17/6/21 Good to see a few boats out this day but sadly only one boat reported two Sea trout to his rod. On the Salmon front all quiet on all fronts. Wind North and variable with reasonable cloud at times.

 Some where at the end of the Rainbow you might get that strike!

16/6/21 All quiet on the Salmon front, on the Brown and Sea Trout front there were a few caught on the drift and to be more precise 3 nice Sea Trout up to 2 lbs. Followed by 20 Brown trout all caught around the Oven and Rabbit. Now to the backdate department, yesterday there was a fine 13 lbs. Salmon caught on the World-Famous Butler Pool at www.watervillegolflinks.ie Back to today, just for the record there were six boats out which is great to see. Wind SW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover at times.

15/6/21 The Currane Anglers were all quiet on the rough waters of Lough Currane this day with a strong Southerly wind cutting across the Lake. Now to you Inny manipulators, There is a nice drop rain forecasted for this weekend as you see if click

14/6/21 My Noble Currane anglers were all quiet on all fronts this day as the sun blazed down on Lough Currane, you could say suntan lotion was the order of the day and I can say that without any fear of contradiction, Wild Atlantic Salmon and Sea Trout were off the menu. Wind NNW light.

13/6/21 Lough Currane was all quiet on all fronts on this calm and humid day and to the best of my knowledge there were only two boats out going by the naked eye and going by the lack of vibrations on my phone I take it there were no vibrations in their rods or reels. Wind SSW with reasonable cloud cover.

 12/6/21 The Currane Anglers were all quiet in all departments so the least said the soonest mended. Wind SSW light and bright at times.

 11/6/21 There were 4 boats out this bright sunny day and all I can say is that the suntan lotion was in full swing but sadly their lines were slack in all departments. Wind West light to fresh.

9/5/21 The Currane anglers were all quiet on the Currane waters this day and for good reason, they had their C&R Inny hats on because there was a nice flood coming down the Inny, I find it surprising that there was no mention of any C&R Wild Atlantic Salmon, it sounds like Rivergate, I will leave it to your experience and imagination. Wind SSW light and overcast and very humid. A video worth watchingwe might learn from this video

8/6/21 Straight to the dirty rotten thieving light handed rotter who stole the oars from my boat, talking of knocking someone when their down! Just for the record they are of sentimental value need I say more. Now for today angling news and sadly there were only two boats out and nothing to report. Wind light and variable

7/6/21 Just 6 boats out this bank holiday Monday, the only Currane angler to register a fine 3 lbs. Seatrout was pro fly angler Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com  Wind SSE fresh and overcast and very humid.  

 6/6/21 There were 7 boats out and nothing to report for their efforts, but to be fair to the Currane anglers there were light winds from the NW then veered SW light and bright sunshine all day, so on that note we will head for the River Inny where the sun was shining on one angler, while on the spin caught and released a fine Grilse.

5/6/21 There were 11 boats out manipulating this day and by all accounts their lines were slack and going by my WhatsApp you can say the Currane Anglers were frustrated with today’s lack of action. Wind SW light and bright and sunny.

4/6/21 The Currane anglers were all quiet on all fronts this day as we head into the holiday weekend, so let’s hope the Currane anglers from every County comes down and show their skills in the art of fly fishing and trolling and it would be great to get a few C&R photos or videos and show your art in the Salmon and Sea Trout film department. Wind SSE fresh to strong at times and overcast and followed by downpours.

3/6/21 Currane anglers were all quiet but as I say that a few Currane anglers converted to the Inny C&R anglers, and it was not long before a fine 7lbs. Salmon was caught on the spin, plus there was one lost. Wind light to fresh SW and overcast all day with light rain.  Now to the Facebook salmon and sea trout saga, you can believe it or believe it not, I can have a Facebook trail plus I have to pay with money up front and that’s before the trail starts, plus I have to defend myself! Does that make cents or what, it certainly does to Facebook?

 2/6/21 Just one lonesome Currane angler manipulating this day and nothing for his efforts on this opening day for the hotels and bed and breakfasts as they open their doors Now we head for the weather. made a nice drop of rain and there was a reasonable flood on the Inny. Wind NNE light and veered NW light and overcast and humid.

1/6/21 Well on this first day of June there were 5 boats out manipulating the Currane waters. Just for the record there were some hired outs boats manipulating their skills which is great to see, they were out from watervilleboats@gmail.com and on the Southside of Lough Currane there were hired out boats from www.lakelandshouse.com and by all accounts their reels were as silent as the lambs. Wind NNW light and cold and overcast all day.
