All the head lines go to the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com Luxembourg Anglers caught 3 Sea trout, also in good form was Mr. Paul French and Mr. Pat O’Toole with 2 Sea Trout, ranging from 2.5lbs up to 3lbs, now to my catch of the day and that goes to Sea Trout angler Mr. Dara Touhy, who I might add has bean fishing Lough Currane a good few years and he was telling Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com in all years he has fished Lough Currane he has never caught a Salmon on the drift, well Dara caught his first ever Salmon on the drift today and his Salmon weighed in at 5.5lbs and Dara finished his day off with a Sea Trout of 1.5lbs. Wind SW light and overcast

Straight to the Sea Trout department, Mr. Mark Knowles of the UK fishing wit his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com  caught 4 Sea Trout on the fly, ranging from 2lbs up to 5lbs, also in good form was Mr. Liam Ellis who caught 3 Sea Trout on the fly ranging from 2lbs up to 3lbs. Now to the C&R department Mr. Michael Smith and his Son Mr. Sean Smith, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com  caught two Sea Trout ranging from 2.5lbs up to 3lbs , staying in the C&R department and my catch and release of the day and that goes too Mr. Noel Curtain of Castlemartyr Co Cork, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Roger Baker and of www.cloghvoola.com who caught a specimen Sea Trout estimated at 8lbs on a size 12 Green Peter, for quote of the day from Roger, Noel is 6 feet tall with hands like shovels and is not holding the fish out to make it look bigger, note the length of the fish across his arms, and just for the record there were a few boats out and sadly they haven’t reported their catches. 29/5/12 We will start with the early shift, Mr. Arthur White of the UK caught a 2.5lbs Sea Trout on the fly and finished his fishing Holiday off with two Salmon, a Grilse of 2.5lbs and topped that with a fine 6.5lbs Salmon and both were caught on the troll, with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville Boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com now to the Salmon fly department, Mr. Mark Knowles of the UK caught a fine 7.5lbs Salmon on the fly fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com Now to the Sea Trout fly department and the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com Mr. Dara Treacy caught a 3.5lbs Sea Trout on the drift, also in good form was Dr. McGuiness who caught a 2.5lbs Sea Trout on the fly, and staying www.lakelandshouse.com German Angler, Mr. Markus Krusas fishing with his Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, caught a 2.5lbs Sea trout on the fly, also local Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy, reported to me that Cork anglers caught a fine 5lbs Sea Trout on the fly this morning, Now to catch and release of the day and that goes to the one and only the king of the Irish Sea Trout fly, Mr. Sean Smith of the UK, as Sean was casting his fly upon the water a 3lbs Sea trout took his fly and as Sean brought his Sea trout under control his fly reel went berserk and he was down too the backing and the next thing my noble Game fish took a almighty jump it was Salmon on the 8lbs class and a few seconds later my Noble Salmon was gone and all Sean was left with was the 3lbs Sea Trout which he sportingly put back, and as Sean is keen C&R Angler we will give him that Salmon because he would of put my Noble Salmon back too fight another day, and it wasn’t long before Sean caught another Sea Trout of 3.5lbs, Sean and Michael’s Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com was telling me that Sean and Michael rose a few nice Sea Trout also and Neil also reported to me that he saw an Angler catch a Sea Tout in the 3lbs Class. Wind SE light with good cloud cover.

Local Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy reported to me that Anglers from cork this evening, caught 3 Sea Trout on the fly ranging from 2lbs up to 4lbs                                                            



UK Angler Mr. Arthur White of Cornwall, caught a 6.5lbs Salmon on the troll and finished his day off with a 4lbs Sea Trout on the fly, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville Boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com and staying with the Sea Trout, Mr. Antony O’Sullivan caught a 5lbs Sea Trout on the fly and his good friend Mr. Eugine McCarthy caught a 3lbs Sea trout on the fly, there was a 2lbs Sea Tout caught on the fly by a Guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com and in the C&R Sea Trout department, Mr. Sean Smith of the UK, caught a 2lbs Sea Trout on the drift fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com Wind S light and overcast.

My Noble Fly Anglers saw some reasonable action on Lough Currane today, I will Start in the Hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com Mr. Dara Treacy, caught 3 fine Sea Trout on the fly, ranging from 3lbs up to 5lbs and Dara was telling me that he also lost two more Sea Trout in the 2lbs class, and staying with www.lakelandshouse.com  Mr. Dave Cronin  caught a fine 3lbs Sea Trout on the drift and I will say one thing, Dave hasn’t had a bad week in the fly department, sadly his son John couldn’t  say the same up until today, when he put the record straight by catching a fine Sea Trout just over 2lbs caught on the fly, and as they say every thing comes to those who wait. Now to the C&R fly department Mr. Michael Smith of the UK and his Son Sean fishing with their Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught and released  two Sea Trout ranging from 2.5lbs up to 3lbs, Mr. Markus Krusas of Germany fishing with his Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer and fishing out of www.lakelandshouse.com caught 1 Sea Trout of just under the 1lbs on the drift and last but not least Mr. Arthur White caught a fine 2lbs Sea Trout on the drift with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley. Now to the Salmon Department Local Gillie Mr. Donal O’Shea and of www.curranelodge.com caught a 6.5lbs Salmon on the troll. Wind E light and overcast with the odd light shower.

Lough Currane was on the wild side with a fresh to strong SE wind and veered S at times, but this didn’t stop a few boats manipulating their Flies and Lures, in fly department Mr. Sean Smith of the UK returned a fine Sea Trout around 3.5lbs and his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com was telling me that Sean contacted a fine Sea Trout in the 6 to 7lbs class and the rascal came off after taking two almighty leaps after 20 minutes, in the Sea Trout trolling department a Guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley, caught 1 Sea Trout, just for the record the air temperature yesterday was 25.9c.

Lough Curran was on the quiet side in general, but not if you were in Mr. Liam Ellis’s Boat because he caught two fine Sea Trout on the fly ranging from 3lbs up to 4lbs and Liam was telling me that he caught on the Bibio and variants’ and in the Salmon department, Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com caught a Grilse this evening on the south side. Wind SE light too calm with bright sunshine all day and warm.

There was some good action on Lough Currane today in the trolling department with some cracking good fish being caught, first in the striking zone was Mr. Jim Hall from New York, who caught a cracker of a Salmon weighing in at 13lbs and just for the record that was Jim’s first ever Salmon so congratulations to him and may it be the first of many, Jim was fishing with his Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, also in good form and regular Angler too Waterville Mr. Arthur White of the UK, who caught two Salmon ranging from 5¾ lbs up to 12.5lbs, Arthur was fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley, and Bob was telling me that he and Arthur had a lucky escape, it’s a pity the 12.5lbs Salmon couldn’t say the same and the reason I say this this is because their Salmon jumped out of the net, and as you can  see its landed up on the internet. Now to the specimen Sea Trout and fly department and my catch of the day and that goes to Mr. Liam Ellis of Waterville and Cork, who caught a fine 6lbs 3ozs Sea Trout on the fly, drifting off Church Island, and Liam is keeping his reputation up as a specimen Sea Trout Hunter because this is the third year on the trot that Liam has caught a specimen Sea Trout so congratulations too him. Staying with the Sea Trout Mr. Marcel Guilliou of the UK, caught a fine 3lbs Sea trout on the fly in the Mouth of the Commeragh, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan and of www.vincentsfishing.com Wind S fresh too strong in the morning and light to fresh in the afternoon and overcast.

There was some good action on Lough Currane today I will start  in the fly department, Mr. Marcel Guilliou of Scarborough of the UK caught a fine Salmon on the fly at the Ledge with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan and of www.vincentsfishing.com also in good form in the trolling department was Vincent’s son-in-law Mr. Tham Hitmiangsong of Waterville and Thailand, who caught a fine Salmon on the troll, and staying in the trolling department Mr. Welten of Holland caught a 8.5lbs Salmon, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly and of www.lakelandshouse.com and last but not least and my catch of the day goes to Dr. Jim Comerford, who caught a fresh 9lbs Salmon on the troll. Now to the Sea Trout C&R fly department Mr. Sean Smith of the UK fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught a fine Sea Trout of 3lbs which he sportingly put back to fight another day.

There was some fine Salmon caught on Lough Currane today, I will start in the fly department, Mr. Sean Smith of the UK fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com  caught a 10.5lbs Salmon drifting by the point of Green island and Sean’s Father, Michael was telling me that his son Sean had a good fight with my Noble Salmon, and Sean finished day off with a C&R Sea Trout in the 3lbs class. Now to the trolling department and catch of the day and that goes to Mr. Andrew Wishart of Co Down,fishing out of Waterville Boats and @watervilleboats@gmail.com caught two Salmon ranging from 7.5lbs up to 9lbs. Now to the Sea trout department Mr. John Foxton  of Co Wicklow caught a fine 3lbs Sea Trout on the Fly fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea and @ tomfishing@eircom.net  now we cut across the south side and the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com Mr. Welten of Holland caught a 2lbs Brown Trout on the troll and there was also another angler fishing on his own caught a Sea trout in the 2lbs class and just for the record there were a few boats manipulating there flies and there catches haven’t bean recorded so I would ask if you do have a catch could you please text me on 0872074882 with your catches how ever small. Straight to the Salmon department and first in the striking Zone was Mr. Martin Clancy of Cork, who caught a fine Salmon on the troll on the south side in Kelly’s Bog with his friends, and I can tell you when Martin netted their Salmon there was all mighty raw and going by the raw they were rugby supporters or in this case my Noble Gentlemen supporters and on that note we head to the North side Where Local Gillie Mr. Donal O’Shea and of www.curranelodge.com caught a fine 6.5lbs Salmon on the Troll, and staying in the Salmon department Mr. Tham Hitmiangsong was in good form again in the trolling department with a 8lbs Salmon, now to the Sea Trout department, Enericko caught a 2.5lbs Sea Trout on the Fly with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com also in good form was Mr. Marcel Guilliou of Leeds UK who caught a fine 2.5lbs Sea Trout on the fly, fishing with his gillie Mr.Vincent O'Sullivan and of www.vincentsfishing.com, staying with the Sea trout Mr. William Timmermans of Waterville and Holland had one Sea trout to his rod, in the hired out boat department of Waterville Boats and@watervilleboats@gmail.com an angler caught one Sea Trout to his rod will give more facts tomorrows update. In the Sea Trout trolling department Mr. Welten of Holland caught a 3.5lbs Sea trout on the troll with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly and of www.lakelandshouse.com and just for the record Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com reported the there were one or two boats seen catching my Noble Sea Trout. Wind SW Light bright in the morning and overcast in the afternoon.

There was good action in the Salmon department on Lough Currane, Mr. Alexander Schwab of Switzerland and of  www.mushrooming.co.uk caught a fine 9.5lbs Salmon on the fly, Alexander was fishing with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com and in the Hired out boat department of Waterville Boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com Mr. Andrew Wishart of Co Down, caught a fine 9.5lbs Salmon on the troll and staying in the trolling department, Mr. Tham Hitmiangsong caught a 8lbs Salmon on the troll this evening. Now to the Sea Trout department and in the words of Mr. Frank Donnelly and of www.lakelandshouse.com  there were nice conditions out their, but very cold out there, so you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to work out the Sea Trout quota but saying that Local Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer caught a 2.5lbs Sea Trout on the troll. Wind NE light with lite drizzle throughout the day.

Wind light and was all over the place  and overcast.

I will start in the sea trout department, renowned Artist Mr. Harry Feeney and of www.relaxwithwatercolour.com caught a fine 4lbs Sea Trout on the fly with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan and of www.vincentsfishing.com Staying with the Sea Trout the majority anglers  reported plenty of quality good rises but no takers. Now to the Salmon department, Mr. William Timmermans of Holland and a regular Angler to Waterville and fishing out of www.oshealoughcurrane.com  caught a fine 5lbs Grilse on the troll, wind S then veered SW light and overcast.

There was a light to fresh NNE wind, but at least some boats did see some action, in the Salmon department all the honours go to Mr. Tommy Duggan and his Grandson Mr. Tom Nugent and for good reason Tommy caught a fine Salmon on the troll first thing this morning and his
Grandson Tom, finished the day off perfectly with a Salmon on the fly in Copal on the South side, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com now we head for the Sea trout department, Mr. John Nolan of Dublin fishing with his Gillie Mr. John Young, and fishing out of www.butlerarms.com caught a nice 2.5lbs Sea Trout on the drift on a Clan chief and staying with the Sea Trout a Dutch Party caught a 2lbs Sea trout on the fly fishing with their Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.Lakelandshouse.com Now to the C&R department and catch of the day and that goes to Mr. Clive McDonald of the UK who caught a specimen Sea Trout of 6.5lbs which Clive sportingly put back, Clive was fishing in a hired out boat from
www.lakelandshouse.com  Wind as already stated with light showers at times.

It was a blustery day on Lough Currane today, but this didn’t  stop regular Anglers Mr. Tom Nugent fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com  Catching two fine Salmon on the troll, while Tom’s  Grandfather Mr. Tom Duggan, watched proudly as his grandson played his two Salmon one after another. it was a wild day on Lough Currane, with a strong WSW wind blowing down the lake, but this did deter my Noble Anglers from venturing out and they did see some action, on the early shift Mr .James Henchey and his good friend, both from the UK, caught a fine 14lbs Salmon on the troll at 8.30 this morning with their Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com Now we go to the Sea Trout department There was a fine 3.5lbs Sea Trout caught on the troll By the Rocket fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com I asked Frankie why they call him the Rocket, Frankie replied for me to know and you to find out, and as you can see I didn’t, and talking of rockets, Frankie has just brought a new fibreglass boat with wings on, and Frankie has named  it the Rocket, and on a day like today you could say two rockets is better than one. On that note its good night from me, and hello from you.

There was a fine fresh 6lbs Salmon caught on the troll by Mr. Michael Schultz of Berlin Germany, fishing with his gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of www.oshealoughcurrane.com and for the rest of we anglers we failed miserably in our duties be it on the fly or troll so on that not I will head for the backdate department, on the 8/5/12 Mr. Guy Bowden of the UK caught his first ever Sea Trout on the fly in Ireland and Guy was also telling me that its his first ever trip to Ireland and said it wont be his last, and just for the record his Sea Trout weighed in at 2lbs and may it be the first of many, staying with the backdate department Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com reported to me that Dr. Jim Comerford caught a Salmon earlier on in the week

There were no Salmon reported on the day shift, but it was different story on the evening shift,where local Gillie Mr. Vincent Appleby of www.salmonandseatrout.com caught a 7.65lbs Salmon on the troll on the south side of the Lake in Copal, and there was also a fine Grilse caught  on the fly by renowned Angling writer Mr. Brian Harris of the UK fishing with his good friend Mr. John Allen. There was some good action on Lough Currane today, I will leave the best to last, in the Salmon department, local Angler Mr. Tham Hitmiangsong, caught a fine 7 ¼ lbs Salmon on the troll, and he was also telling  me that hat he also lost a Salmon at the net,  and just for the record that is Tham’s first ever Salmon he has caught on his own on the Lake so congratulations to him, now to the Grilse department Mr. John Louis fishing in a hired out boat from www.lakelandshouse.com caught a 5lbs Salmon on the fly, now to catch of the day and that goes to Mr. Michael Schultz of Berlin Germany, who caught a cracker of a Salmon, weighing at 15 ¼ lbs on the troll, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea and @ tomfishing@eircom.net Wind N light and overcast.

Straight to the C&R Sea Trout Department, Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of watervilleboats@gmail.com reported that his client Mr. Dessie Menice of Belfast, fishing in a hired out boat from Michael, caught a fine Specimen Sea Trout of 7 1/2lbs on the fly, which he sportingly put back to fight another day, and staying in the Sea Trout department Mr. John Louis fishing in a hired out boat from www.lakelandshouse.com caught a fine 3lbs Sea Trout on the fly, wind NE light and overcast.

There was a couple of good rod benders in the Salmon department and I will start with fish of the day and that goes to Mr. Michael Fish, who caught his first 9lbs Salmon on the fly fishing in copal with his Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer and staying in the fly Department Mr. Liam Ellis of Waterville caught a fine 6lbs Salmon on the fly while drifting. Straight to fish of the day and that goes Mr. Alister Dunbar of Scotland fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com  caught a fine 4lbs Sea Trout on the fly and finished his day off with another Sea trout in the 2lbs class, and staying in the in the Sea Trout department Ger McCarthy fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea and of  www.oshealoughcurrane.com  caught a fine sea trout in the 2lbs class on the fly, off the point of Grassy Island. Now we go to the Salmon lost department there were reports of one Angler losing two Salmon on the troll and also caught a Sea Tout. Wind SE light to fresh with good cloud cover.

Lough Currane was on the calm side first thing this morning with a light breeze from the east, then the Lough went calm, until there was a reasonable breeze from the S, with all the wind changes, still my Noble fly anglers failed miserably in their duties, and in the trolling department my Noble Anglers  didn’t fair much better but one boat did report a bit of action in the lost department, both in troll and fly, Local Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea and @ tomfishing@eircom.net and his Client lost a fine Sea Trout in the 5 to 6lbs class on the troll along the North Shore and they also lost a Sea Trout on the fly in Copal in the 2lbs class. Wind as already stated with reasonable cloud cover this morning and overcast this afternoon with light rain from late afternoon.

Breaking News, Local Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly reported that he and his Client Mr. Steve Cameron caught the first Grilse in 2012 on the troll weighing in at 4lbs and staying in the Salmon department and my catch of the day, goes to Local Angler Mr. Eric Jouen and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com who caught a fine fresh 7lbs Salmon on the troll, the fly department was at a stand still with no wind to assist my noble Fly Anglers.

Straight to my Noble Salmon department and quote of the day Mr. Dave Ecclestone of the UK caught a 9lbs Salmon on the fly, with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan and @ www.vincentsfishing.com  and Dave would like to in form Mr. Alister Dunbar of Scotland that it Scotland 1 Yorkshire 1 in their battle with my Noble Salmon, and Alister's quote of the day is the battle Bannockburn 24 June 1314 now to the Sea Trout department, Local Angler Mr. Jim Sayers caught a fine 5lbs Sea Trout on the troll off Church Island. Wind East then veered west this afternoon and veered SW this evening light to calm with heavy showers on and off throughout the day.

In the words of Local Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea it was black out there on the Lake, there was a strong NE wind blowing down the lake with the odd shower, and no reports of any capture of my Noble Salmon.
