20/6/15

Ernie
20/6/15 There was reasonable action on Lough Currane, so lets get to the action. UK Angler, Mr Robert Elson, caught a fine 2 lbs. Sea Trout on the drift, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley. Now to the Salmon and Sea Trout department, Cork Angler, Mr. Pat Mahony drifting along the North shore, saw some great action, Pat caught a fine Grilse and finished his afternoon off with a fine 3 ½ lbs. Sea Trout and just for the record Pat was fishing out of Waterville Boats and at watervilleboats@gmail.com  UK Angler and a regular visitor to the Waterville Fishery, Mr. Jonathan Fish, caught a fine Grilse on the fly while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan of www.vincentsfishing.com Now we have a European professional touch, Luxemburg Anglers, Ernie, caught a fine 6 lbs. Grilse on the fly, Ernie’s choice of fly was a WH tied fly, I asked their Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com what type of fly is that, he replied one that catches fish!! Staying with the Luxemburg Party,  Renée lost a fine Salmon on the fly, and his good friend finished their day off with a fine Sea Trout in the 3 lbs. Class, again Frankie was their Guide. Now to the trolling department, Northern Ireland Angler, Mr. Andy Wishart, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com Caught two Grilse at the same time and sportingly put the smallest back and dispatched the other which was in the 5 lbs. class. Now to the back date department, yesterday, Mr. Eddie Blanche from Co Laois and fishing out of the Bungalow, caught two Sea Trout on the drift, ranging from 2 ½ lbs. up to 4 ½ lbs. Wind W and fresh at times with good cloud cover with light misty rain at times.
