Bill
4/9/18 There was some great action on the Waterville Fishery this day so we will head for the world famous Butler Pool and at www.watervillegolflinks.ie UK Angler Mr. David Burton caught two Grilse on the fly and kept one, his good friend Mr. Bill Shackleton of the UK also caught a fine Grilse on the fly, after a cracker of a mornings fly-fishing on the Pool with their Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com  They headed up stream to Lough Currane for an afternoons Sea Trout fishing and the angler that came up trumps was Mr. David Burton with a fine Junior. Staying on Lough Currane we head for the Salmon department, UK Angler Mr. Keith Nicklin caught a fine 9 lbs. www.oshealoughcurrane.com  Now we head for the apology Department and yes I’m Guilty as charged because I failed miserably in my duties on the 24th of August, I failed to check my email and because of this Mr. Leonard James missed out as all you good readers did, as you will see by the photo, so my apologies to all and especially Leonard and so on that note, Leonard can have his say at last and in his own words, Hi Vincent,
Leonard
Salmon, while Fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea at
for your reports. An unexpected salmon today on the fly.. A size 12 claret
bumble enticed a stale but feisty salmon from the grassy. After the
obligatory photo he was put back safe and sound.
Plenty of good sized brownies as well and rose two decent sea trout. A
grand day out on Currane. Regards, Leonard James. Wind NNE light with reasonable cloud cover. Yesterdays weather, maximum air temperature 16.2 c.
