Owen Currane angler of the year 2023

12/10/2023 There were 7 boats out manipulating their skills on this last day, sadly not a great finish to the end of the 2023 season and for good reason, for starters there was 31 mm rainfall yesterday, a total of 41 mm within 26 hours so you can understand why. Now back to today’s action, just the odd trout, but one boat did report 4 small seatrout for their efforts. Wind was slack ESE and variable and overcast all day, followed light rain at times. Now we head for the Currane Anglers of the year and that goes to Curran fly Angler is Mr. Owen Moriarty who caught his first Salmon on the fly, weighing in at 11 lbs. Junior Currane fly angler of the year is Master Dan Dwire for catching his first ever two Salmon on the fly. All I can say is congratulations to the winning Currane Anglers.

As I have being saying for over 20 years it’s that time of year again and yes you have it, first of all I would like to say a big thank you to you the readers of the Blog and especially Mr. Myles Kelly and all the team in the Inland Fishery Ireland for their great support as always, this 2023 season. Also, a big thank you to Mr. Paul Burke of the Trout and Salmon, who has the hard work of editing my reports every month, well Paul you still have the patience of a Saint. So, on that note I can’t wait for the 2024 Season, Happy Christmas to you all and stay safe and I’m looking forward to January 17th, 2024, and writing On The No Spin No Fly’s just Facts Zone.
