21/2/2026
At Lough Currane, angling activity remained quiet across all areas today, with no reported catches in any department.
With little to report on the fishing front, attention turns to the weather conditions. A fresh south-westerly wind persisted throughout the day, accompanied by overcast skies and the occasional light shower. Weather data recorded yesterday showed: rainfall: 3.1 mm
Maximum air temperature: 12.6°C
Sunshine: 2 hours 9 minutes
Overall, conditions were unsettled but not severe, and anglers will be hoping for improved sport as weather patterns stabilise in the coming days.

13/2/2026

13/2/2026.I start with the sad news that renowned bar tender Ann Marie O" Shea  RIP sadly passed away yesterday. As we all know, Ann Marie worked in the Butler Arms Hotel  Fishermen's Bar for fifty years plus, Ann Marie had held court behind the bar. She'd listened to countless tales of the one that got away, celebrated triumphant catches, and offered a sympathetic ear to anglers. I  can say Ann Marie will certainly be missed by all her customers, and especially we anglers, I can just see her working in the Heavenly St. Peter's Fisherman's Bar giving out dinks to her father Jack, here mother Kathleen and her brothers Patrick, james, Francis and Timothy. So, on behalf of the Currane anglers, all the good people  of Waterville and all the good people of Kerry, our Sincere Sympathies to all the O'Shea family.

Rest n Peace Ann MarieĹ
