Lough Currane came up trumps in the Specimen Sea Trout trolling department today, and the capture of my Noble Sea Trout of 11 lbs, 2 oz was taken by Mr. David Hempsy, of Newcastle Co Down, and just for the record David was fishing in a hired out boat from Waterville Boats and at watervilleboats@gmail.com David was also telling me that it was his first time fishing Ireland’s Premier Sea Trout Lake, and you can be sure it won’t be the last. Now to the Sea Trout fly C&R department, Mr. Kevin Synnott caught 16 Juniors, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. John Murphy, also in good form Was Mr. Peter Gaynor of Tipperary, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent Appleby and of www.salmonandseatrout.com caught his first ever Sea Trout today, and added 2 more Juniors to his basket, in total Peter caught 3 Juniors to his rod of which 2 were put back. Now for a C&R mixture of Salmon and Sea Trout and that accolade goes to Dutch anglers Wim and Peter, from Rotterdam, while fishing with their Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com they caught a fine 7 lbs Salmon on the troll then headed for Sea Trout fly department and it wasn’t long before they had their rods bent double, in total they caught 3 Sea Trout ranging from Juniors up to 3 lbs. Staying in the C&R department. Mr. Rob Elson of the UK fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley, caught 7 Trout to his rod, also in good form a client fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan and www.vincentsfishing.com caught 5 Juniors on the drift.
