19/9/14 Staying with yesterdays catches and for good reason, here are the late results, in the Salmon department, Mr. Olivier Blazy, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley, caught a fine 9 lbs Salmon on the troll and finished their day off with 2 Sea Trout on the fly, of which the best was 2 lbs. and in the hired out boat C&R department of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com Mr. Liam McKnight caught 2 Juniors. Now back to the present, and staying in the boat department of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com Mr. Liam McKnight was in good form again with two Juniors. Now we cut across the Lake to the South side. Dr. Ken Web while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com caught 6 Sea Trout, ranging from Junior class up to 2 lbs. In Franks hired out boat department, Mr. Dave Cronin caught 3 Juniors on the drift, and Rob and Martin Burns caught 10 Sea Trout on the fly, ranging from Junior Class up to 2 ½ lbs. There was no wind until about 3pm and when it did eventually pick up it was easterly and light and overcast with heavy showers throughout the day, so on that note we will head for news desk of www.loughcurrane.com

Good news from the catchment generally. The IFI team has been monitoring the principal
spawning streams in the catchment with, at first reckoning, excellent results!
and recorded
The stop nets are fixed - about 20 metres apart.

The fry are counted and measured.....
We observed one of the operations on the middle Commeragh last week, where in just 20 metres of stream almost 1000 salmon fry were recorded!!
....the team move through with the electro fishing nets
fry are placed in buckets. Note the aerator!
