Jove with his Wild Atlantic Salmon
16/4/17 This Easter Sunday we start on the North Shore and at the Bungalow, in the C&R fly department, Mr. Matthew Solon, from Co Clare, While fishing with is Gillie Mr. Neil O'Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught a fine 8lbs.salmon on the fly today and sportingly put back this fine fish so it can fight the elements of the Commeragh River and hopefully spawn this December. Just for the record Mr. Matthew Solon is also a professional Fishing Guide and works as a Gillie on the Ponoi river in Russia. Just for a matter of interest I will have a picture of  Matthew’s fish being released in the next few days, sorry for this! Now we stay on the North Shore and head East down the Shore line and to Waterville Boats and at watervilleboats@gmail.com Mr. Michael Mymes caught a fine 2 ½ lbs. Sea Trout on the fly, while fishing with is Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of watervilleboats@gmail.com and in Michael’s backdate fly department, yesterday, Mr. John McBride from Co Down caught a nice 3lbs Grilse on the World famous Butler Pool and at www.watervillegolflinks.ie  Now we head across the Lake to the South side and catch of the day Mr. Jove Panlilio from the Philippines caught a cracker of a 13 lbs. Salmon on the troll, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com they say a picture tells a story and you can say without any fear of contradiction that’s one satisfied Angler and all I can say is congratulations and well done. There were at least 10 boats out this day on Lough Currane, wind NW light to fresh with good cloud cover. Yesterdays weather, maximum air temperature 11.5c.
