30/7/14
30/7/14 It Was a better fishing day? But alas my Noble Game fish thought other wise and my Noble fly Anglers weren't far behind them, and you can't catch fish from the high stool, or if you are a convert to the Golf you can’t get a hole in one in the 19 hole, “cheers” Wind W fresh and overcast and humid but cooler than the last few days.

29/7/14
29/7/14 Sadly the weather takes all the headlines, Wind NW fresh with bright sunshine and very few anglers manipulating their flies or lures and on that note, I will go straight to an anglers point of view, right or wrong you decide. Any good today I asked my Noble Anger he replied, I am taking up golf, its a dam site easier than the fishing and you can publish this and be dammed, and as luck would have it I could hear a pro angler in the distance shouting out 4?

28/7/14
28/7/14 Mr. Mark O’Malley of the UK, again takes all the headlines in the trout department with 2 trout to his rod, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com and for the rest of my Noble anglers the least said the soonest mended. On the weather front wind N light with reasonable cloud cover this morning then the sun broke out and that was that.

27/7/14
27/7/14 Again Lough Currane was on the hot side, with a Gentle NW wind, and very little action, even though Local Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com reported that his client Mr. Mark O’Malley of the UK, caught 1 Trout on the drift, but other wise all quiet on the western front. You could say my fishing notes are getting like that old TV series, Peyton Place, one continuous story. Sorry for this but my Noble Angers are failing miserably in their duties in all departments. Bad conditions or not.

26/7/14
26/7/14 The wind was in the NW, but sadly my Noble Anglers couldn't manipulate their flies or lures and make their fish to invest and as on one Gillie politely said no motorbikes, no fish, no photos, and there is no argument from the redundant paparazzi ?? But joking apart with theses hot conditions what do you expect, even the great St. Peter would be looking up to the heavens.

25/7/14
25/7/14 Anglers saw another hot day on the Lake and very little action even though local Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com did report that his client, Mr. Mark O’Malley of the UK, caught 1 Junior on the drift. And for the rest of the angling community they failed miserably in their duties and with very little wind this is understandable, and what wind was there was West light.
Thursday, July 24, 2014
24/7/14
24/7/14 Again Lough Currane was on the quiet side and not surprising with little to no wind and variable and very hot, so its not surprising both fish and anglers alike are keeping a low profile, but at least one angler did get a bit of action in the C&R department and that was Mr. Brian Stark, who caught a nice 1 ½ lbs. Brown Trout on the fly, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com I will finish on a poetic note, on a fishes right to freedom. Here, here, to the water of the brave and the home of the free, so remember please when you catch me please release me and let me go.
Wednesday, July 23, 2014
23/7/14
23/7/14 Lough Currane was on the quiet side for the majority of Anglers with only one Gillie and his client reporting their catch, and that was Mr. Mark O’Malley of the UK, who caught 1 Trout on the on fly, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com and for the rest of the fly and trolling anglers they either failed to catch their common dominator, or more likely failed to let their fingers do the talking at the end of the day. Wind, and going by what I here there is plenty of it going around Waterville at the moment but not on the lake today and what wind was there was all over the place, with reasonable cloud cover and very humid.

22/7/14
22/7/14 Straight to the backdate department and in the words of Northern Ireland angler, Mr. Andy Wishart, my nephew Gavin caught a 5 pound grilse yesterday and I caught a 4 pound grilse today. Both on the troll, Gavin also caught a 2 pound sea trout today, and all I say to that is voi·là, and just for the record Andy was fishing in a hired out boat from Waterville Boats and at watervilleboats@gmail.com Now we head for the Bungalow, Mr. Mike Power caught and released a 1 ½ lbs. Sea Trout on the drift, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com Wind S moderate

21/7/14
21/7/14 Wind was SE with misty rain on and off all day and there was only 1 good Sea Trout recorded on the drift, that Accolade goes to Mrs Ann Curran of Dublin, who caught a fine 3 ½ lbs Sea Trout on the fly, while fishing with her Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com For the rest of the angling community, there was very little action in the wild Game fish department, going by my mobile phone.
20/7/14
20/7/14 I Start today’s notes on congratulating Irish Golf Star, Mr. Rory Mcilroy, for wining the British Open Golf Championship and may it be the first of many. Sadly there were no Gold medals won today on Irelands Premier Salmon and Sea Trout Lake, but here are some of their scores cards. In the www.lakelandshouse.com hired out boat fly department, Mr. Martin Burns and his Son Rob, caught a fine 2 ½ lbs. Sea Trout and caught a few Juniors which were sportingly returned, Now we cut across the Lake to the North side and the Bungalow, Mr. Neil Glivan, caught 1 Sea Trout to his rod, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com Wind NW with some cloud cover and very warm.
Saturday, July 19, 2014
19/7/14
19/7/14 My Noble Anglers were as lethargic as their Noble game fish and with no wind to manipulate their flies and bright sunshine, what do you expect, miracles? well if they did I am afraid they didn't pray hard enough so here endeth the lesson.

17/7/14 Lough Currane was on the humidity side and my Noble Game Fish were keeping a low profile both in the trolling and fly departments, so we will head upstream to the famous Butler Pool and of www.watervillegolflinks.ie and the same couldn’t be said there, with 2 Grilse caught on the fly by Mr. Donal Eustace of Kilkenny, and as always guided by the one and only, the King of the river on the Waterville system Mr. Junior Scully. Wind South and light with good cloud cover. Tonight we have thunder and lightening and what ever tomorrow will bring? More News I hope ?

12/7/14 There was only one good battle with my Noble salmon in the hired out boat department of Waterville Boats and at watervilleboats@gmail.com and I will say one thing you can’t keep this angler out of the limelight, when he comes down from Northern Ireland, and that is Mr. Andy Wishart, and for good reason, he caught a fine fresh 5 lbs Grilse on the troll and if you go back on the Salmon and Sea trout notes, this will confirm it. Now to the watervilleboats@gmail.com Sea trout department, the Commander-in-chief of Waterville Boats Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, reports that there were 6 Sea Trout and a few Brown Trout taken on the fly, in his hired out boats. Now we go down the North Shore to the Bungalow and staying in the Sea Trout Department, Mr. Graham Elwood and Mr. Meurig Parsons, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught 2 C&R Trout on the drift, and Mr. Keith Francis caught one C&R Junior, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com Wind, there was a good Westerly all day, then veered N this evening, light to fresh and overcast with the odd heavy shower.
