Mr. Winperson of Switzerland caught 3 Juniors with his gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan. Now we head down stream to the famous Butler Pool and http://www.watervillegolflinks.ie/ where Local Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, caught a fine 7lbs Salmon on a stoats tail, staying with the Butler Pool and Waterville House, Manger Mr. Alan McGuirk reported to me that there was a total of 27 salmon caught on the pool in the past week.

Photos of Mr James Hinchey of the UK, who caught two Grilse on a Connemara Black, on the Butler Pool, on the 23/8/10 which he sportingly put back. Now to days facts. in the Salmon and Sea trout department Dutch angler, Tim, caught a fine 6lbs Grilse and 4 Sea Trout on the fly, Tim was fishing with his Gillie Mr. Terence Wharton Snr, now we go to the hired out boat department, Mr. Tom O’Shea, reported that Mr. Tom Barry, caught a 1.5 Sea Trout on the fly, and for the rest of we anglers no comment, now for some catches in the past week, Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, reported to me that, Mr Don Malcolmson and party from Northern Ireland caught 30 Sea Trout, the best of which was 3lbs, and just for the record that
was between two boats. Wind NW light to calm and bright sunshine all day.

Lough Currane and the waterville fishery is in need of liquid refreshment, but low lake or not, my noble anglers procured my noble Sea Trout, and here are the Lough Currane Sea trout results. I start in the C&R department, Mr. James Hinchey of the UK caught 2 Juniors, also in good form was Mr Mick Halpin with 5 Juniors, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, staying with the Sea Trout, Mr. Baxter caught 5 Sea Trout with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan, Mr. Barrett caught 1 Junior with his gillie Mr. Bob Priestly, now for catch of the day, that goes to Arthur and Luke Townsend with 2 fine Sea Trout, ranging from 1.5lbs up to 3.5lbs and your wind report comes from Mr. Bob Priestly, wind NW light to fresh and bright and sunny.

Sea Trout and Salmon update.
Lough Currane, Butler Pool
Mr. James Morgan of the UK caught 5 Sea Trout on the fly, with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, and there was 1 salmon caught on the Butler pool.


Straight to the Sea trout department, Mr. Tom Coran caught 2 Juniors on the fly, also in good form was Mr. James Hinchey of the UK who caught 3 juniors with his Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy, staying my noble sea Trout, Mr. Baxter, caught 4 Juniors with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan, local Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly again caught 2 Juniors and he was also telling that Mr. Dan Sugrue fishing with his Gillie Mr. Brod O’Sullivan, caught 6 Juniors.

Sea Trout Update.
Lough Currane.
Local Gillie Mr. Bob priestly caught 2 Juniors and he also was telling me that Mr. Dan Sugrue of Tralee and Waterville, caught 10 juniors with his gillie Mr. Brod O’Sullivan, and last but not least Mr Tom Coran, reported to me that he caught 2 Juniors. Now to the poaching department, I was reading on http://www.loughcurrane.com/ that our manger Mr. Trevor Stafford is reporting some catches on the higher lakes, I will start with Lough Na Mona, Mr. Kevin O’Sullivan and Mr. Tadgh O’Sullivan caught 2 Sea Trout in the 1.5lbs class, now we go further upstream to Lough Cloonaghlin, on the evening shift, Mr. John Holestead caught 2 Sea Trout.


I start today’s facts, on the famous Butler Pool and of http://www.watervillegolflinks.ie/ Mr. Tommy Duggan of Kilkenny, gave the Lough Currane Sea Trout a rest today, and went down stream, and hammered the Butler Pool and caught himself 2 fine salmon, weighing in at 5 and 7lbs, Tommy was with his Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy, staying with the Pool, Waterville House, manger Mr. Alan McGuirk, reported to me that a total of 11 Salmon have bean caught this week. Now we head up stream to Lough Currane and the Sea Trout department, Mr. Niall Cahill, caught 3 Sea Trout on the fly with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, staying with the Sea Trout, Mr Arnold Slater, caught 2 Sea Trout on the fly, with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, and last but not least, a guest fishing with his gillie Mr. Terence Wharton Snr, caught 4 Juniors.

Kilkenny angler, Mr. Tommy Duggan, was in excellent form again with his fly rod and for good reason, Tommy caught 7 Sea Trout ranging from junior Class up to 3.5lbs. Tommy was fishing with his gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy. Staying in the Sea Trout department, Local gillie Mr. Bob Priestly reported to me that he caught 2 Juniors.

Conditions were not the best, but that didn’t deter my Noble Anglers recording some fine catches, in the Sea Trout department Mr. Tommy Duggan and Mr David Mehigan fishing with their Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan, caught 8 Juniors, and David was telling that they lost a couple of sea trout in 1.5lbs class. give or take, also in good form was Mr. Arnold Slater, who caught 5 sea Trout from juniors up to 2 to 3lbs with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, staying in the Sea Trout department Mr. Stefan Kuhan, fishing with his gillie Mr. Mike O'Dwyer, caught 3 Sea trout up to 2.5lbs, Local Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly, caught 2 Juniors, Mr. Rod Rrobenson of the UK and Waterville caught 5 Trout with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea. I was talking to couple of anglers fishing in a hired out boat, and they were telling that they had caught 2 juniors. Wind SW light to calm and overcast with light rain for most of the afternoon .

C&R Department
On Lough Cloonaghlin, Mr. Kevin O’Sullivan of Lake road Waterville caught a fine specimen Sea Trout of 8lbs on the fly.


There was fine action on Lough Currane, In the Salmon department Mr. P. Hartwet caught a Grilse on the fly in the mouth of the Commeragh with his Gillie Mr. Dominic Mc Gillicuddy , now we head for the Sea Trout department, Mr. Tommy Duggan caught 7 juniors on the fly with his gillie, Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan, also in good form was local Gillie Mr. Bob Priestly with 2 Juniors, staying in the Sea Trout department Mr. Sebastian Jardineotway caught 2 Sea trout up to 2lbs with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly, now for the fish of the day and that goes to Mr Gerry O’Sullivan who caught a fine 7lbs15ozs Specimen Sea Trout on the fly.

Mr. Daniel Claris and Mr. Alain Behar of Paris France, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Vincent Appleby, caught 3 juniors on the troll, in the Sea trout fly department the least said the soonest mended, or put it this way so far no catches have been registered? Well they have now, in the hired out boat department, Mr. Neil O’Shea, reported to me, that Mr. Mike O’Shea and his fishing colleague caught 9 Trout on the fly, weather conditions Wind WSW light to fresh with bright sunshine all day.

Just a few juniors caught, otherwise all quiet on the SW front, and if there were some good catches? those anglers that were successful in procuring my Noble game fish, failed miserably in their duties in reporting their catches. Straight to the Salmon department, Mr. John Mason of Portugal, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent Appleby, caught a 4.lbs Grilse on the troll and finished the day off with 1 Junior and had a number of good cracks from my Noble Game Fish, now to the Sea Trout department, Guests fishing with their Gillie Mr. Sylvester Donnelly caught 2 Juniors on the troll, now to the hired out boat department, Local gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, reported to me that Mr. Sean Brick and his Son Liam caught 3 sea Trout, and his other guests also fishing in a hired out boat caught 7 Sea Trout.

Update.

Mr. Frank Donnelly, was telling me that guests fishing in one of his Hired out boats caught 10 sea Trout ranging from Junior Class up to the 2lbs



Straight to the Sea Trout department and Lough Currane, Local Gillie, Mr. Bob Priestly, was telling me that he caught 2 Juniors on the dry fly in Copal, on the south side, now we go down stream to the Butler Pool where there was some fine action, A guest caught a 4lbs Grilse, with his Gillie, Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, and catch of the day with 3 Grilse, weighing in at 5lbs 4.lbs 3.5lbs, goes to that renowned Angler Dr. Tim Gleason, fishing with his gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, and if you don’t take my word for it, look up April 4th you will see my Noble Doctor holding a fine specimen Sea trout.

Lough Currane was on the quiet side, but at least one angler did see a bit of action, Mr. Mike Power, caught 1 Junior with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, there was a NE wind blowing down the lake, plus there was heavy cold showers at times, which didn’t make for good fishing, now we head upstream to the Higher lakes, on Lough Derriana, German Anglers fishing with their Gillie, Mr Frank Donnelly, caught 4 Sea Trout.

The winner of the Waterville Fisheries Development Group, Catch and Release competition, was Mr. John Buckley of Killarney, who caught 10 fish worth 3250 points and captured 1st prize of a 19 foot Lake Boat, Mr. Daniel Dinger Murphy came second with 2750 points and won a Electric outboard motor, the longest fish over the two day competition was 55cm was caught by Mr. Kevin O’Sullivan, now to the top ten prize winners in full. Mr. John Buckley 10 fish for 3250 points, Mr. Daniel Dinger Murphy, 8 fish for 2750 points, Mr. Rod Robinson, 7 fish for 2220 points, Mr. John Murphy, 6 fish for 1890 points, Mr. Neil O’Shea, 5 fish for 1570 points, Mr. Kevin O’Sullivan 4 fish for 1450 points, Mr. Bill O’Dea, 4 fish for 1310 points, Mr. Julian Smith 4 fish for 1290 points, Mr. John Curnew, 4 fish for 1280 points, Mr. Jim Sayers, 4 fish for 1270 points. Now to other anglers on Lough Currane, there was just one report of a fine Grilse caught by Mr. Keenan fishing with his gillie Mr. Bob Priestly and in the none competition Sea Trout department, cork angler. Mr. John Quilligan fishing with his clients from Wales, caught 4 Sea Trout up to 2lbs, now we head for the higher lakes and Lough Namona, Local angler Mr. John Young caught 2 Sea Trout both in the 2lbs class, on Lough Derriana, Dr. Tim Gleason, caught 2 fine Sea Trout both in the 2 to 3lbs class.

Update

Now straight to the poaching department, I was reading on http://www.loughcurrane.com/ that Cork Angler Ger McCarthy and his good friend caught 7 Sea Trout, up to 2lbs, Mr. Dona Monaghan, of Newbridge, caught 2 Sea trout, both fish were in the 2lbs class and added a few smaller Trout to his basket, Mr. Anthony Breen of Co Wexford caught 3 Sea Trout, ranging from 1.5lbs up to 2.5lbs, Mr. Colin Frazer, fishing in a hired out boat, caught 3 Sea Trout.
In the Salmon department Waterville’s Local Postman, Mr. Joe Murphy, caught a fine 5lbs Grilse on the troll. Wind NW light to calm and overcast with the odd light shower,
