31/1/15

Snow on the Hill
31/1/15 Local Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea was the only boat manipulating on the lake and sadly the only bit of stimulating Tom had was in Kelt department with 4 kelts to his boat. Wind North with very strong gusts with a mixture of hale sleet and snow with good sunshine between the showers.

30/1/15

30/1/15 All quiet on the SW front in all departments, including the weather, except with the odd heavy hale shower  followed by strong NW gusts. As I am sure you all know that tomorrow is the last day of the shooting season and just to let you know there will a great party in the Waterville Inn, so lets all come on down and listen to some great music, great food and make sure you bring your dancing shoes, that’s a quote from the Landlord Mr. Damian Duff of the Waterville Inn.

27/1/15 Breaking News First Salmon caught

Mr. Brod O'Sullivan
Brod Receives  the Paddy Carey Cup from
The Land Lord of the Waterville Inn
Mr. Damian Duff
27/1/15 At last the ice is broken on the wild Atlantic Salmon front on Lough Currane and my God it was done in style by the one and only local Gillie Mr. Brod Sullivan, who was trolling on the North side when My Noble Salmon sang the Hardy Perfect National Anthem and Brod was in for a hell of a Battle and Brod had one look at the old gentlemen and knew he was into a cracker. Experience told Brod as he was fishing on his own, its better to be save than sorry, so he called his good mate over, local Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley to give him a helping hand in netting this fine Salmon and staying with this fantastic fish it was a Hatchery Salmon, so we all should say a big thanks to all the Hatchery workers because without their good work theses notes and photos wouldn't be going out today. Once the excitement settled down, Mr. Brod Sullivan headed for the Waterville Inn and the Land Lord Mr. Damian Duff presented Brod with The Paddy Carey Memorial Cup. There are a few extra photos but I will let them tell their own story.

**** it Brod caught it first
the facts speak for them selves

27/1/15 Breaking News 17 lbs 10 ozs Salmon caught on the troll by Mr. Brod O’Sullivan, will have all the facts and photo later.

26/1/15

26/1/15 What can I say, sadly not a lot, but here are the facts of the day or the lack of them. In the boat department, there were 5 boats out and the only recorded bit of action came from local Angler, Mr. Tham Hitmiangsong who reported that he caught 1 Kelt on the troll and for the rest of the angling community their skills have a lot to be desired. Wind NW light to calm and overcast.

25/1/15

25/1/14 Now today’s Salmon News, The Wild Atlantic Salmon countdown is still on, so all I can say to those anglers fishing on the Waters of Lough Currane today, you failed miserably in your duties and the least said the soonest mended.
Breaking News in the Birthday department, on behalf of all the Anglers and the good people of Waterville I would like to wish the Landlord of the Waterville Inn, Mr. Damian Duff a very Happy Birthday for today.

24/1/15

24/1/15 8 days into the fishing and still waiting for that wild Atlantic Noble Salmon and with five boats manipulating across the waters, you would think at least one angler would procure the first Salmon, but alas they all failed miserably in their duties. In yesterdays notes I mentioned that the Landlord of the Waterville Inn would show us how its done to catch the first Salmon, but alas the flu caught Damian first, talk about bad luck, it would have been nice to See Damian being presented with the  Paddy Carey Memorial Cup and he might yet. On the weather front there was a light wind and overcast.

23/9/15

23/1/15 The Waterville Fishery is still waiting for its first Salmon of 2015 and going by what I was told in the Waterville Inn this evening, things will be on fire tomorrow on Lough Currane, that’s going by the Land Lord of Waterville Inn, Mr. Damian Duff, who said he would show we Anglers how its done, so watch this space and lets hope he dose. Wind SW and overcast.

22/1/15

22/1/15 Again there were only 2 boats manipulating their lures’ and the only bit of action was in the boat of Mr. Tham Hitmiangsong, he caught 2 Kelts and he was also telling me that he caught 4 Kelts on the opening day. Now for quote of the day, I wont mention the anglers name. I text one of Waterville’s top Gillie’s and asked had he anything to report and I am not talking of Page 3 and he replied, sadly a bit too frosty for page 3 Models to find a new home on Currane. Bright sunshine this morning and overcast this afternoon and calm all day.

21/1/15

21/1/15 There were just 2 or 3 boats out manipulating and there was no reports of any rod benders. Overcast with the odd light shower.

20/1/15

20/1/15 Lough Currane was quiet in all departments including the weather with a light to calm NW breeze. Now on a personal note I forgot to mention on the opening day notes of the good crack we all had at the Waterville Inn and on behalf of all the Anglers I would like to thank the Landlord Mr. Damian Duff and his good Wife Sally and their Staff for a great evening in the Music and the food department and thanks for the invitation.

19/1/15

19/1/15 Here is your weather report for today, raining all day or as good as, with a fresh Southerly wind blowing and what boats were out didn't let their fingers do the talking, why do I say this? even if they caught a Noble spent Salmon, it would make better reading in my opinion? What do you say my Noble readers?

Hi great to be back on the no spin no flys just facts zone , and a very happy new year to you all and tight lines to you all in 2015 Now to day's facts, well there isn't any and for good reason my Noble Anglers couldn’t produce my Noble Gentlemen the Salmon, just for the record there were a few kelts caught, there were 12 boats manipulating.wind, there was no wind to talk of and cold. On that note my Noble Anglers will be heading for the Waterville Inn for a good opening night with good music and good food and spot prices so I will let the landLord Mr Damien Duff have the last word , be at The Waterville Inn tonight.
