Today’s weather, wind SW fresh and variable, followed by plenty of sunshine throughout the day. 10/6/2024

10/6/2024. We start with a back date and even though I say it myself it’s great to report that UK Currane angler Mr. Marcel Guillou while flyfishing with his gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com, caught and released a specimen 6lb Sea Trout. Now back to the present, www.fishingwithdom.com reports there were just two boats out today and all quiet in all departments. Staying with the amount of boats out, it  was made quite clear to me that I have been failing in my duties in this department, all I have to say to this Currane angler, yes guilty as charged so let’s put the record straight, in the past three weeks average of five boats out? on a daily basis. Wind NE light and variable, followed by reasonable cloud cover. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 0.3mm, amount of sunshine 3hrs.mins, maximum air temperature 15.0c.

9/6/2024

9/6/2024.  The Currane anglers tried their best this day and that’s all they can do, it’s like a Carry-on film so keep carrying on fishing lads, so on that note we will head for The Mad Fisherman and for good reason these reports certainly wouldn’t bring a smile to one’s face. So on that note, we will let the one and only My Noble Mad Fisherman take the stage at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lw9vGqb3twQ&t=607s

Wind NNW light to fresh followed by good cloud especially in the afternoon. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 1.1mm, amount of sunshine 9 hrs, maximum air temperature 14.8c.

Streams nearly dry

8/6/2024. They say anglers have the patience of a saint, going by the last reported fish taken there’s no argument to that and today’s facts there is no exception to that either, but the Currane anglers patience will have to continue. Wind NNE light to fresh followed by reasonable cloud cover. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 0.9mm, amount of sunshine 5hrs.5mins, maximum air temperature 15.6.c.

7/6/2024

7/6/2024. Where do I start, well at the beginning and I can tell you that the Currane anglers ended their day the same way they started except for their silence and that sums up today’s manipulations and if my report is incorrect, I would be delighted. Wind NNW light to fresh followed by good cloud cover and a few showers. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 0.7mm, amount of sunshine 1hr.9 min, maximum air temperature 14.8c.

6/6/2024

6/6/2024. The Currane anglers reports are getting like the American tv soap Peyton Place and is like a one repeating continuous old 45 record and that doesn’t say much for me either, need I say more. Wind light to fresh coming from the West, followed by the odd shower and reasonable cloud cover. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall a trace, amount of sunshine 4.7, maximum air temperature 14.1c.

5/6/2024. The Currane anglers were all quiet in all departments but to be fair the lake is on the low side and just for the record I’m not trying to make an excuse for the lack of catches. Wind NW fresh, followed by the odd shower and reasonable cloud cover. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 3.3mm, amount of sunshine 5.5, maximum air temperature 14.6c.

4/6/2024. The Currane anglers were all quiet this day except for their natural language for the lack of reel action, need I say more, I certainly will if I get breaking news. Wind fresh NNW, followed by reasonable cloud cover, just for record there were a few heavy showers this morning. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 0.1,  amount of sunshine 0.9, maximum air temperature 15.4c.

Monday, June 3, 2024

2/6/2024

2/6/2024. Another bright and sunny day on this Bank Holiday, you can say that it was a perfect day for a Fogarty’s 99 as it is every day, as the Currane anglers have melt down while fishing in all departments. Now we head for the Currane anglers view, the stage is yours Currane Anglers Bill and Phil.

OK it’s a sunny day. But 1st June and not a seatrout in sight.  This breaks my heart, Vincent. Goodness knows what it’s doing to you and all the (I guess) now redundant Waterville ghillies.

you’re absolutely right Bill, it’s all about greed & money with total disregard to the environmental and wild life. Not to mention the animal cruelty in the frequently over crowed fish cages resulting in disease ridden fish & marine pollution. There is no reason why such operations couldn’t be located in less sensitive locations well away from well know wild migratory fish routes & fisheries. Truth is money talks and governments are as corrupt as they’ve ever been.

Wind NNE light, followed by reasonable clear skies, yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 0.0mm, amount of sunshine 15.0, maximum air temperature 17.3c.
