12/4/12 Update
Now to the poaching department, I was reading on www.loughcurrane.com that, The Upper lakes are fishing well for brown trout at the moment with good bags of fine conditioned trout up to and around the 1lb mark.
John Curnow and his nephew Archie had an excellent day on Cloonaghlin Lough with well over twenty fish caught for the day.
We tend to forget that these upper lakes provide some of the best quality brown trout fishing in Kerry to say nothing of the peace and quiet and the magnificent scenery. Lough Currane was on the slack side, but I can tell you one of Lough Currane’s renowned Gillie's Mr. Brod O’Sullivan of Stella Maris Guesthouse would disagree and for good reason he caught a fine 8.5lbs Salmon on the troll. Weather the same as yesterday.
The launch of a new film by Anglersview Media about angling in Waterville called "Sea to Stream, a salmon and sea trout season on Lough Currane" will take place in The Morgan Hotel, Fleet St, Dublin 1 on April 26th at 8pm. Anglersview Media will also be having a viewing of the film here in The Butler Arms Hotel in Waterville on Sat April 28th at 8pm. All are welcome and refreshments will be provided!! There is a clip of this film on www.youtube.com/anglersview"
