29/9/2024. My apologies for the lack of information on this day but as luck would have it, thanks to the amount of rainfall, plus it was wild out there by all accounts it was a day for the high stool or put your C&R Inny hat on and all I can say is the Inny farmer was all quiet so I will leave that to your imagination, did they or didn’t they precure my Noble gentleman the Salmon. Wind SE fresh to strong followed by strong gusts.  30/9/2024. Well as we all know today was the last day of the 2024 Salmon season and I can report that it was a cracker of a day on the Waterville fishery, so straight to the Lough Currane action,  the Currane angler reports the facts of the day. There were 5 Salmon caught on the troll followed by a good few Sea Trout and Brown Trout caught on the fly and troll, the best C&R basket of  Sea Trout goes to Currane angler Phil Staniforth, who caught 5 Sea trout on the fly, while fishing with www.fishingwithdom.com Now we head for the Inny Farmer who reports on the C&R Inny anglers, Hi, Vince, there were a few nice Salmon caught and released on this last day of the Salmon season. Now for the Currane angler of the 2024 Salmon season and that goes to Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy, and he nailed it while fishing with his client the UK Currane Umbrella man Mr. Gary Humphery and his video confirms the Currane Gillie of the year. Salmon of the year I will give that at the end of the Season on the 12th of October. Wind NNW fresh to moderate veered NW, NNW. 28/9/2024. UK umbrella man, Mr. Gary Humphery, while fishing with his Gillie www.fishingwithdom.com and fishing out of https://thecrescentwaterville.ie/  caught and released 4 Sea Trout while trolling. Wind gentle to moderate SE veered SSE, SSW, SW, SSW, S, followed by reasonable cloud cover. Now we head for the complaining department and for good reason. The stage is yours Gerard. Hi Vince, I thought there was a ban on worming on the Commeragh river and on the Inny river, I thought we were supposed to be protecting our seatrout. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 4.2mm, amount of sunshine 6hrs.1mins,  maximum air temperature 12.7°c.

27/9/2024. We start with the UK umbrella man, Mr. Gary Humphery, while fly fishing with his Gillie www.fishingwithdom.com and fishing out of https://thecrescentwaterville.ie/  caught and released 5 Sea Trout, in total 3 on the Fly and two on the troll. Staying on the Lake the Currane angler also reports that there was a good few trout caught on the lake mostly on the fly, biggest was in the 2 ½ lbs class. Now we head up stream to the Commeragh where the Black Birds fancy was in action and as of yet no reports but watch this space. Now we head across the Vally to the Inny farmer. High Vince, just to let you know that there were 2 C&R Salmon caught. Wind moderate to fresh NNE, followed by reasonable cloud cover, Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 6.2mm, amount of sunshine 0hrs.0mins, maximum air temperature 12.5°c.

26/9/2024.What a cracker of a day for the UK umbrella man, Mr. Gary Humphery and for good reason, while fishing with his gillie and renowned C&R Currane angler Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of  www.fishingwithdom.com caught 3 fine Salmon ranging from a Grilse in the 4 to 5 lbs class followed by two springers, the biggest was in the 11 to 12 lbs class, followed by 4 Sea Trout all caught on the troll, All I can say is congratulations to UK Currane angler Mr. Gary Humphery and his Gillie www.fishingwithdom.com  Just for the record there were a few Trout caught on the drift. Wind North light followed by good cloud cover, followed by showers. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall12.1mm, amount of sunshine 0hrs.1mins, maximum air temperature 13.0°c. Just for the record all the fish were put back and the pictures and video tell the story.

25/9/2024. The Currane angler reports that there was 1 salmon caught on the troll and followed by a nice few Brown Trout and juniors caught on the drift. Staying with the Sea Trout The Currane umbrella man Mr. Gary Humphery fishing out of https://thecrescentwaterville.ie/  and fishing with his Gillie www.fishingwithdom.com  was in good form with two C&R Sea trout to his rod. The eye of the Eagle was watching as you can see by Gary’s photos. Wind East veered ENE, E, ENE, moderate too fresh at times. C&R Grilse caught by Gary

24/9/24. Just three boats reported out manipulating their skills, all I can say is that only one angler who came up Trumps, that was UK Currane Angler Mr. Gary Humphery fishing out of https://thecrescentwaterville.ie/ caught and released a fine 3 to 4 lbs Grilse caught on the troll, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com they finished their day off with a Sea Trout followed by a Brown Trout, again caught on the troll and all released. Wind, North light to gentle and variable, Veered NNW, NW, followed by reasonable cloud cover plus the odd shower. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall, trace, amount of sunshine 0hrs.3mins, maximum air temperature 16.6°c.

There was a fine C&R Salmon caught on the troll, now we head for the C&R Sea Trout and Brown Trout department, UK Currane angler Mr. Gary Humphrey, fishing out of thecrescentwaterville.ie  caught 1 Brown Trout and one Sea Trout on the fly while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com just for the record there was a few more trout caught on the drift. Wind variable NE Light to Gentle veered ENE, NNE followed by reasonable cloud cover. As I’m sure you know there was no update on yesterday’s manipulations, sadly today was another roaster, in the words of one Currane angler it’s too bright and a good flood would be no harm, there’s no argument to that. Mind you I wouldn’t be surprised if there was the odd Grilse or Trout caught?  17/9/2024. Just for the record the Inny farmer has a News flash, the stage is yours Inny farmer. Hi Vince, there were two C&R Salmon caught yesterday 16th of September. Staying with yesterday, we cut across the valley to the Currane angler and his report, there was 1 C&R salmon caught while trolling and followed by the odd Trout also caught on the troll. Now today’s action there were four boats out and just the odd Trout caught again on the troll. Wind gentle ESE veered SE, moderate to gentle SSE, S, followed by bright sunshine all day. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 0.0mm, amount of sunshine 0.3mins, maximum air temperature 18.7°c.

 16/9/2024. We start in the backdate department, why because I failed miserably in my duties in yesterday’s notes, so let’s put the record straight. Hi Vince, at least 2 salmon caught on the troll and a few trout caught on the drift and on the troll. Now back to today’s Currane news, as of yet my WhatsApple is all quiet in all departments, so don’t be surprised if there is an update? Straight to the weather and for good reason,  because there was 13.7mm of rainfall, so you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that my Noble Currane anglers would put their Inny C&R hats on. Staying with the C&R Inny river, as of yet I haven’t had any reports from the Inny farmer, the same goes for the Lough Currane anglers who didn’t have their C&R hats with them. Wind variable North, gentle to moderate, veered NE, NNW.  13/9/2024. My apologies for no report today, so on that note we head for tomorrow’s notes. 14/9/2024. The early morning Currane angler reports that there were a few trout caught on the drift followed by 1 grilse caught on the troll. As you will see by the wind, why it was the early Currane anglers that caught the  Salmon and Sea Trout. Wind SSW strong to near gale, gusts up to 61km/h and overcast all day followed by a good bit of rainfall.  8/9/2024.The Currane angers were very quiet on this wild day, but to be fair that’s not surprising considering there was a strong NE wind, average speed 31km/h, mind you that wouldn’t stop them from going out but the strong gusts that’s another story, staying with the gusts they were up to 57 km/h followed by reasonable cloud cover.
