28/4/21 The Currane anglers were all quiet on all fronts on this calm day, as you can see by the photos, Lough Currane is really low, so you can appreciate why the Currane Anglers are at an all-time low and that’s no Bull. Wind NNE light with reasonable.

                                A fine Currane Sea Trout

27/4/21 Three boats out and all members of the Brown tag hand be me down club, but there’s only one member of this exclusive club that takes all the headlines and for good reason, that’s the one and only, Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com while out trolling, caught and released a fine 5 lbs. Sea Trout. In the Salmon department all quiet on all fronts. Wind NNE light to fresh and variable, followed by April showers.

                           Wild Atlantic like an ice rink 

26/4/21 Just in and just two out manipulating their lures this bright and sunny day, their all talking of a pink moon tonight, so hopefully they will be talking of a Salmon tomorrow. Wind was all over the place and light.

25/4/21 Again it was all quiet on all fronts and as you can see by the picture it wasn’t an ideal day for the manipulations of producing a Wild Atlantic Salmon and for good reason, considering the draught conditions you could say the Currane Anglers are well Browned off. Wind ESE light to fresh and hardly a cloud in the sky.

                        Lough Currane, Copal this afternoon 

22/4/21 Just two boats manipulating this day and by all accounts there was a few good Smolts on the take, as they there were yesterday. On the Salmon front all quiet, just a few good Brown Trout caught. Wind SE strong and bright sunshine all day.

21/4/21 In the words of one Currane Angler, and I quote, all I caught was a suntan today, thankfully you don’t need a Brown tag to catch the sun. That sums up today’s angling notes. Wind SSE light to fresh and variable.

20/4/21 Again the Currane anglers were feeling subdued today for the lack of action on their lures. To be fair to the Currane anglers Lough Currane is exceptionally low. Just for the record there were 3 boats out. Wind SSE light and overcast all day.

19/4/21 Four boats out on this miserable day with light misty rain at times, come evening the Currane anglers were just as miserable as the weather as they looked down on their floorboards and thinking to themselves a few scales wouldn’t do any harm. Wind SSE light to fresh and overcast all day.

 18/4/21 All quiet on all fronts, there were four boats out manipulating this Day, their order of merit is as follows, 3 hand me down Brown tag boats, 1 Barbless Angler. Wind SSE light to fresh and overcast with light misty rain at times.

18/4/21 Again just two boats out and with all their efforts their lines stayed slack, but I will not give them any flack. Wind SSE fresh and overcast with light rain in the afternoon.

15/4/21 There was only one lonesome Barbless angler manipulating his barbless flies or lures, sadly his flies and lures stayed as lonesome as himself, need I say more. Wind SSE and cloudy at times.

14/4/21 Just two boats out manipulating this day on an exceptionally low Lough Currane, sadly their rods were slack. Wind SE light to fresh, bright, and sunny all day. As you can see by the photo, the Currane Hampshire Hogs anglers were celebrating the opening of the bars in the UK yesterday and discussing and looking forward to their visit to the Waterville fishery.

12/4/21 The Currane Anglers were all quiet on all fronts. There were 4 Boats out manipulating their skills, but sadly the Wild Atlantic Salmon were not amused with the Brown hand me down tag anglers, just for the record there were 3 hand me down manipulators and one Barbless and talking of the Barbless it was sad to see that renowned Fishing Guide Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com did not get a Brown Tag in the last of the Brown Tag Spring draw. Now it was brought to my notice that the Killarney Lakes fished well today with at least 11 Salmon caught and this news will really get the Currane Anglers Browned off, I know I am. Wind West light, bright and sunny.

11/4/21 Well it was the last Brown tag draw for the 2021 springers and just for the record I am like Manuel of Fawlty Towers, I know Nothing, and I catch Nothing, so on that note we will head out to exceptionally low Lough Currane and today’s facts, there were two Boats out, their order of merit is as follows, one Barbless boat and one hand me down Brown tag manipulator and I can say they both were Salmonless this day. Wind NNW light and sunny all day and cold, just for the record it was 4.o C in Westerville at 10 am

10/4/21 Straight to the Barbless and C&R Pro Angler Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy while trolling caught and released a fine 3 lbs Sea Trout. Now we head for the Brown tag department, there were two hand me down brown tags and an outright winner, all I can say is there were no winners in today’s Brown Tag Wild Atlantic Salmon race. On that note we head for the comment department on the No Spin No Fly’s just Fact’s opinion zone. Today’s comment is from a UK and Currane Angler Mr. Barry Vaughan, so take it away Barry.

Dear me Vince, has there ever been such a poor start to any previous season. Where are the fish? Are they being harvested by EU fishing monsters off the West Coast? Does anybody ever check on their catches? Do they land their catch elsewhere? Sounds to me like a tragic situation evolving out there, and all the Government can do is restrict anglers with bloody tags. Does any Government official ever read your reports from a once fabulous fishery, or even ask about numbers of fish these days? This is not meant to reflect on anyone’s efforts to counter this situation, including you, Vincent.

8/4/21 Two Barbless and two hand me Brown tag boats out this day, sadly with all their efforts they came back to dry land Salmonless. Just for the record Lough Currane is exceptionally low thanks to this dry spell. Wind SW light to fresh and overcast all day.

6/4/21 The King of the Barbless of Catch and release department Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com caught and released a fine 2 lbs. Sea Trout this day. Now we head for the news on the Brown Tag Anglers, it was all quiet on the Salmon and Sea Trout front.  5/4/21 Well this Easter Monday there were 3 Brown tag and two Barbless boats out this day and by all accounts their boats were Salmonless. So, on that note we will head for the lesson department and for good reason, Currane Anglers need to see this Video of UK and Currane Angler Mr. Gary Humphrey playing two fine Trout at the same time. 3/4/21 Yesterday as we all know was Good Friday, well I can tell you today it was a Bad Saturday in all departments and for good reason it was reported to me that there was no Brown Tag Boats out manipulating and the same goes for the Barbless Anglers, what has Lough Currane come to? So, on that note I will finish today’s lack of notes by saying Happy Easter to all you the Waterville Fishery anglers and none anglers alike. Wind SSE and SSW light, bright and sunny all day.
