11/6/16 What can you say about the Lough Currane pro Anglers and amateurs, its simple they are failing miserably in all arts of game fishing ie Wet flie, Dry flie and dapping the flie and trolling, last but not least the Black Birds Fancy, so as you can imagine their topic of conversation as they drink their pints this evening was on their failures of the day and if its not, it dam well it should be. Nigel
Irish Navy
gives the thumbs up to Kerry Fishing today.
Trevor and Michael
6/6/16 The Irish Navy gave Waterville Boats and Lough Currane and the Kerry Fishery a full Irish Navy salute today and for good reason because there was some great fishing in the fly department and here are the facts of the day. I will start with Salmon of the day and that goes to UK angler Mr. Nigel Henshaw of Hartley Wintney, while fishing with his Gillie, caught a cracker of a 10 lbs. Salmon on the fly and in the words of  Nigel’s Gillie and I quote, lost one Salmon first thing this morning on the troll then lost 3 on the fly before caching a peach of a 10 lbs. Salmon on the fly. Now to catch of the day and that goes to another great Hampshire Angler Mr. Trevor Dewberry of Blackbushe, while fly fishing with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville Boats and at  watervilleboats@gmail.com  Caught 3 Grilse from 3 ½ lbs. up to 4 lbs. Normally I don’t report on other fisheries but I’m going to make an exception and in my book for good reason, Trevor and Nigel’s good mate, Mr. Peter Ruffle, of Hartley Wintney, went up to Caragh lake and caught two fine Grilse on the troll and as I said the other day you can’t beat the Hampshire pros, so congratulations to them and their Gillie’s for promoting Kerry Fishing. Wind South with reasonable cloud cover.

Grilse on the troll, all while fishing with their Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com Wind

4/6/16

Peter
Nigel
4/6/16 Another blazing saddles day with a light SW wind with little to no cloud cover, so you might think there was no chance in  procuring a Wild Atlantic Salmon? well you would be wrong because those Hampshire pros showed how it should be done in this Lough Currane heat wave. First in the striking zone was UK angler Mr. Peter Ruffle of Hartley Wintney, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville Boats and at watervilleboats@gmail.com caught a fine 5 ½ lbs. Salmon on the Troll and  his good friend Mr. Nigel Henshaw also of Hartley Wintney, finished the day off with a 4 ¾ lbs Salmon  on the troll, with his gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com and fishing out of Waterville Boats and at  watervilleboats@gmail.com and for the rest of the angling community as they looked up to the heavens and asked themselves what are we doing wrong? Well its simple, your no good in the Lough Currane heat wave and all I can say is I hope I will have to eat humble pie in tomorrow’s notes. Wind as all ready stated and the philosophy of the day is you can’t catch him if your not out there what ever the conditions as proven by the Hampshire Pros.

3/6/16

3/6/16  Another hot day on Lough Currane today, but sadly my Noble Game Fish gave the cold shoulder to all anglers that were manipulating their flies and lours. Wind W light with bright sunshine all day.

2/6/16

Caitlin
2/6/16 On the Day shift the least said the soonest mended and with flat calm conditions this morning and very warm, its not surprising there was little action. Come the afternoon the wind got up from the SE then veered West light, at least one boat did get a rod bender but my Noble Salmon lived to tell the story, but the same couldn’t be said for the evening shift, all the headlines go to young 12 year old, Miss Caitlin McAlister, while fishing with her Granddad, Mr. Jim Sayers, caught a fine 6 lbs. Salmon on the troll and a big congratulations to Caitlin on here first Salmon and I’m sure it will be the first of many and its great to see the youth of today taking all the headlines and it’s a pity we don’t have more young people like Caitlin on Irish fisheries. Wind as all ready stated

A picture tells a story
1/6/16 Today was a roaster with clear blue skies with a light wind from the west and you can say without any fear of contradistinction all anglers failed to procure my Noble Gentlemen the Salmon. Just for the record the amount of rainfall for May was 77.9 mm.
