30/9/2022
Well as we all know today was the last day of the 2022 Salmon season and we
finished in style in the Villa Maria for the traditional Bacon and Cabbage, I
will get back to the Villa Maria after the Salmon and Sea Trout facts of the day.
We start on the C&R River Inny there were 3 Salmon reported. Now we head
for the Butler Pool, UK Anglers Michael and James McSweeney while fishing on
the World-famous Butler Pool and at www.watervillegolflinks.ie caught two
Salmon on the fly and accompanied by their Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of
Waterville boats and at watervilleboats@gmail.com Now we go upstream to Lough Currane,
Currane angler, Mike from Cork, caught two Grilse and 5 Sea Trout on the fly, while
fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and at www.fishingwithdom.com As you can see by the
Photo Michael is a C&R Angler. Wind SW veered WNW fresh to strong at times
and overcast until the afternoon. Just for the record there was a bit of rain
again this morning. Now back to the Villa Maria, well I can say without any
fear of contradiction the Bacon and Cabbage was absolutely first class and we
finished off with a delicious Apple crumble. So on behalf of the Currane
Anglers a big thank you to Fiona, Dan and all their staff for a great night in
the Villa Maria and at www.thevillawaterville.com
