29/9/2023

Lough Currane
The Salmon Season maybe over tomorrow but we still have 12 day's of C&R Sea Trout Fishing.

29/9/2023 As we all know tomorrow is the last day of the 2023 Salmon season, we all know what that means, yes you have it, it’s the traditional Bacon and Cabbage night in the Lobster Bar and all are welcome, so come on down and celebrate your catch with fine Bacon and Cabbage and finish it off with a fine pint in the Lobster Bar. Now today’s and yesterday’s action, I start with yesterday’s action on C&R River Inny, there were 3 Salmon caught fly yesterday, We stay on the Bank of the C&R River Inny and for good reason because there was four Salmon caught on the fly today. Now we head for the Big Lake where some great action in all departments, there was 3 Salmon caught and released on the fly, in the trolling department there was one Salmon caught and released, there were also a nice few Trout caught on the drift and the troll. Now we head upstream to the Commeragh River, they say the early bird catches the worm, there was one enthusiastic Salmon angler fishing on the Commeragh at 7 am, sadly I take it that the angler’s line was slack going by my WhatsApple. Wind W light followed by good cloud cover. Staying with the weather Kerry is on a yellow rain warning tomorrow, the amount forecasted for the Waterville Fishery 21.4mm.
