Robert being presented the wooden spoon

30//9/23 We start this last day of the Salmon Season on an early morning text and a furious angler who sent me this text and I quote, Hi Vincent I know it’s the last day of September but I’m very angry to see 2 wormers on the Commeragh river this morning it’s a disgrace that this is allowed to happen. Robert. All I can say is we will call them the Christian Brothers because one day their prayers maybe answered, and one day the Christian Brothers will be charged by the Inland fisheries fishing officers. Now for the rest of today’s action we start on the lake, C&R Currane angler Mr. Brian O’Rourke had 2 seatrout followed by 6 brownies on the fly, now we head across the valley to the C&R River Inny where there was some good action, going by the C&R Inny farmer who reports that four C&R Inny fly anglers had one Salmon each. Now my catch of the day goes to Anglers who had to go to a stock lake because Lough Currane was too rough, so they headed out looking for some action and they found it at the end of a Rainbow as you can see by the photo. Now we head for the end of the Salmon Season party in the Lobster Bar and the crack was good especially when Robert was presented with the wooden spoon for the 2023 Salmon Season, one Currane angler said he’s making a habit of it, all I can say is Robert, good luck for the 2024 season and that goes for all the Waterville Fishery anglers. I finish the 2023 Salmon season on the Bacon and Cabbage party by saying on behalf of all the Currane anglers and non-anglers, a big thank you to the Lobster Bar Management and all their staff for a great night out. Wind SSE and veered SSW fresh to strong with gusts up to 69 Km/h followed heavy rain in the morning.

At the end of the Rainbow
