Straight to the Sea Trout and the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com Northern Ireland anglers, Mr. Trevor West caught a specimen Sea Trout of 6 ¾ lbs on the drift and his good friend Mr. Ian Graham finished the day off with a fine 3lbs Sea Trout, and just for the record both Sea Trout lived to fight another day. Staying in the Sea Trout department, Phil and Tim Staneford of the UK, caught 1 Sea Trout in the 3lbs class, while fishing with their Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com Now to the Salmon department, Local Gillie Mr. Vincent Appleby of www.salmonandseatrout.com caught a Grilse on the troll, and I can say without any fear of contradiction, I have been catching Salmon on the Waterville fishery for 50 years and that is No spin No fly’s but just facts. Wind NE light with bright sunshine all day.

27/5/13 Late News
Mr.Arthur White of the UK fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley caught a 4.5 lbs Grilse on the troll.
All quiet on the SW front and with a cold NW blowing with heavy showers throughout the day, its not surprising my Noble Game fish were in a lethargic mood, or putting it in plain English, my noble anglers failed miserably in their duties.

20/5/13 All the head lines go to Mr. Marcel Guillou of the UK, and for good reason he caught a 2.740 kg specimen Sea Trout on the fly, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Vincent O’Sullivan of www.vincentsfishing.com and for the rest of the fly fishing community there was no comment on their catches, I wonder why? I will tell you why, they failed miserably in their duties in all departments. Wind NNE light with good cloud cover.

All the head lines come from the Bungalow on the North side of the Lake, first in the striking zone was Mr. Michael Shultz of Berlin Germany, who caught a fine 9 lbs. Salmon on the troll, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea and of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com also in great form in the fly department was Mr. Sean Smith of the UK, he caught a cracker of a Salmon on the fly weighing in at 10.5 lbs. even before his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com got on the oars to manipulate the boat, in full view of his fellow fly Anglers, my noble gentlemen jumped about six times, and Sean’s reel was echoing across the water, and it wasn’t long before Sean’s Gillie netted my noble Gentlemen, and there was one hell of a grin of satisfaction on their faces and as especially as it was their last cast of the day. Wind NNE light and very cold this morning with heavy showers at times.

Here are the Salmon and Sea Trout results from the premiership, Salmon and Sea Trout UTD won Anglers UTD 0 and not surprising that my Noble Salmon and Sea Trout won the day, because it was a bitterly cold day on the big Lake/Lough Currane, and with a strong NNE wind blowing, with heavy showers.

Straight to quote of the day, local Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea, nothing caught by me and didn't hear of any success stories, for more info go to www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com now we cut across the lake to the south side, in the words of Mr. Terence Wharton jnr, Copal was thick brown, and after another 14.8mm rain yesterday that is not surprising.

9/5/13
Again Lough Currane was under pressure with strong gale force north west blowing, but this didn't deter Mr. Alistair Dunbar caching a fine 7 lbs Salmon on the fly, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy and of www.fishingwithdom.com Wind as all ready stated, amount of rain fall since the first of May is 34.8 mm and just for the record for daily rainfall data go to www.met.ie/latest/yesterday.asp

7/5/13
There was a strong southerly wind blowing across Lough Currane, but this didn't deter my Noble Anglers from manipulating their flies and lures, but alas they failed in all departments. Wind as already stated, there was good cloud cover with light misty rain for most of the day, with heavy rain tonight, a flood wouldn't do any harm, so lets hope we get a good liquid refreshment.

Mr. Tom O’Shea and of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com reported that he saw an angler catch 1 Salmon on the troll and that was their lot on the Big Lake/ Lough Currane, so we head straight down stream to the famous Butler Pool and of www.watervillegolflinks.ie and all the honours go to Mr. James Henchey of the UK who caught a 7.5 lbs. Salmon. The Butler Pool facts were given to me by Mr. Michael O’Sullivan of Waterville boats and of Watervilleboats@gmail.com
