18/9/13 New Photo Update

Mr. John Allen
Mr. Bob Priestley
Mr. Sean Smiths, C&R 7 ¼ lbs. Sea Trout
There was some good fishing on the Waterville Fishery today. We start on the Big Lake/Lough Currane, straight to catch of the day and that goes to Mr. John Allen of the UK and these are John’s words and I quote, The wind & weather backed off enough for me to get a last day on the lake before leaving for home. So went out with Bob and we each had a nice fish. As the Photos show Bob had a nice Salmon, a hen of about 10/11lb and 1 Junior and  I had a super pretty fresh hen 3.5lb Sea Trout and 2 other Juniors. All fish returned fit and healthy to spawn another year. We rose several more but they were coming short however, what a lovely way to end your season. All in all one of the best weeks fishing I have had on Currane for many a year. Also in good form in the Salmon department Swiss Anglers caught a fine 5 ½ lbs. Salmon on the troll, while fishing with their Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com In the total Sea Trout fly department Mr. Sean Smith of the UK and his Father Michael, fishing with their Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught, 3 Sea Trout, their weights are as follows 1 ½ lbs 2 ½ lbs. and finished their day off with a 7 ¼ lbs and all returned. Now for a stroll across the valley to the River Inny, where there was some reasonable action and going by the detective agency, some catches weren’t reported, but the Inny catch of the day was Mr. Rod Robinson of Waterville takes that accolade with 2 fine Salmon weighing in at 8 lbs and 10 lbs and released one of the Salmon, and just for the record both fish were caught on the fly. Wind N light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover.

Caught by Mr. Rod Robinson
