7/9/13
There was some good action on Lough Currane today, so here are the facts. First in the striking zone and my catch of the day and that goes to the hired out boat department of Waterville Boats and at watervilleboats@gmail.com and for good reason, Robert Wishart of Northern Ireland caught his first ever Salmon on the lake, weighing in at 5 ½ lbs. fishing with his Dad Andy, and come lunch time Robert headed for Waterville and his Dad continued to manipulate his lures and it wasn’t long before his rod was bent double into another fine Salmon also in the 5 lbs class. Staying with Waterville boats and the Sea Trout department. Mr. Kieran O’Keeffe, caught a fine 3 ½ lbs Sea Trout and finished day off with 2 Juniors and he rose a good few and in the words of the commander-in-chief Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, Kieran was delighted with his days manipulation. Staying in the Sea Trout fly department. Mr. Sean Smith of the UK, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught and released 4 Sea Trout all in the 1 ½ lbs class and in Neil’s hired out boat department. Mr. Steve Callaghan caught 2 Sea Trout. Wind NW fresh with heavy showers at times.
