30/8/15 Lough Currane was all quiet on the SW front in all departments and to be fair to my Noble Anglers there wasn’t much wind and what wind was there was light and variable with plenty of sunshine. So we head for the backdate department and I was sent a picture of a fine catch of a Salmon and Sea Trout caught on Lough Currane in the past week.

28/8/15 The 2015 ‘Currane Championship’
28/8/15 Lough Currane was on the quiet side in all departments so we will go back to yesterdays fine catch and for good reason, Rory didn’t catch his Salmon on Lough Currane in actual fact he caught it on Copal Lake and in my opinion this makes Rory’s catch even better, because there isn’t many anglers if any that have caught their first ever Salmon on the fly on Copal and especially at the grand old age of 15. Wind W fresh with reasonable cloud cover. Message from www.loughcurrane.com

26/8/15 Lough Currane was on the quiet side in all departments going by the iphone, even there were a few Juniors caught on the fly, but you can say with out any fear of contradiction in the overall angling community they failed miserably in their duties, in their manipulation of their flies selection and presentation and their choice of drift and last but not least they failed to let their fingers do the talking at the end of their day and all I can say is, iphone or not I have spoken and just for the record I failed miserably my self, so who the hell am I to criticize. Wind WNW and veered WSW and overcast with showers.

23/8/15 Charlie Chaplin takes all the headlines in Waterville and Kerry take all the headlines, as they win at Croke Park both in Minor and Senior football semi-finals and my Noble Anglers had nothing to celebrate as they failed miserably in their duties. Wind West light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover at times.

11/8/15 All quiet on the SW front and with little to no wind and bright sunshine that’s not surprising and if there were any catches of some sort my noble Anglers failed to report their manipulations. Just for the record there was a light breeze from the west this evening.

6/8/15 Lough Currane was more on the quiet side for the majority anglers but www.oshealoughcurrane.com reported that one boat did catch at least two Salmon on the fly. Wind light westerly, with reasonable cloud cover.

3/8/15 Lough Currane was at a standstill with a storm force wind from the SW and a yellow warning was issued from www.met.ie there were reports that one boat did venture out this morning, but it wasn’t long before he came back charging in with his tail between his legs and I will quote Captain Mainwaring, you stupid boy! On the breaking news front the new Sea Lodge Waterville Hotel of www.sealodgewaterville.ie launched their new website this evening and on behalf of all the angling and golfing community and the good people of Kerry we wish www.sealodgewaterville.ie all the best in this new adventure. Going back to the weather, there was 22.7 mm of rainfall yesterday.

2/8/15 Congratulations to the Green and Gold shirts of Kerry for blowing the White shirts of Kildare away in the All Ireland quarter final and that is exactly what the wind did on Lough Currane today, it blew My Noble Anglers away from the North side and with a gale force SE wind blowing that isn’t surprising, even though one boat did venture out from the North side but my Noble Angler didn’t let his fingers do the talking, so on that note we head across to the South side and the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com Mr. Dara Tracey of Dublin, caught 3 Sea Trout on the fly, all in the Junior class. Wind as already stated and overcast with heavy rain.

1/8/15 There was very little wind on Lough Currane today, but when the wind did blow from the WSW some anglers got their just rewards and first in my striking zone and the first anglers to let their fingers do the talking at end of the day, Were Pat and his Son Tim O’ Mahony of Cork, they caught a fine 5 lbs. Sea Trout on the drift and just for the record, Tim caught the 5lbs. Sea Trout and his Dad caught a couple of Juniors. Staying in the Sea Trout department, Dutch Angler, Mr. Wim Woermeijer, fishing out of www.lakelandshouse.com caught and released 2 fine Sea Trout, both in the 3 ½ lbs. Class, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com and for the rest of the angling community they failed miserably in their duties and that includes my good self and I certainly didn’t have to let my fingers do the talking at the end of the day. Wind as already stated and overcast all day with light drizzle late this afternoon.
