7/2/17 Lough Currane was on the calm side this day and what wind was there was from the NW added with a few hale showers and it was cold out there. The only boat to report any action was local Gillie Mr. Eric Jouen of Waterville Boats and at watervilleboats@gmail.com Eric reported to me that the only bit of action was in the Kelt department. Wind as already stated, air temperature 6 c felt like 1c.

6/2/17 Again the weather takes the headlines with a strong SE gale blowing across the lake this morning which made fishing virtually impossible, come afternoon the wind veered SW fresh, but sadly my Noble Anglers had already had called it a day by then.

5/2/17 Here are today's  facts and quote of the day all in one sentence from local Gillie of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com  No good. My first day out. Cold north wind, 5  boat's
out. I will finish by saying that is your ration for today's miserable action and l must apologise on behave of the angler's, their lack of ability to catch the wild Atlantic Salmon.

4/2/17 Anglers still waiting for that elusive Wild Anltic Salmon as they hammered the Norham Shore  with the troll and the fly, angler's did likewise with the fly but to all no avail. Wind Light  SW and very  cold.

3/2/17 There was just one boat out and going by all accounts my Noble Angler failed miserably in his duties. Wind SW light with good cloud cover. Amount of rainfall in the last 2 days 22.7 mm.  The average temperature in the last 2 days was 10.1 Celsius at times felt like 8c.
             
   Inny River Brown - Tags for 2017

As the Inny River has been set as a Brown Tag River for 2017, there is a total allowable catch by rod and line of 30 salmon or sea trout (over 40cm) for 2017

Due to the low amount of Brown Tags available to anglers, it has been decided that they will be distributed via a lottery system at four different dates throughout the season.

 March 1st  6 tags will be issued

June 1st  8 tags will be issued

July 1st 8 tags will be issued

August 1st 8  tags will be issued

The lottery will be held at the Inny Bridge on the Waterville / Cahersiveen road at 18:00 (6pm). Time and venue may change depending on weather but anyone who has submitted details to the authorized distributor will be notified beforehand.

Tags will not be distributed before March 1st  in order to allow anglers to purchase their licences and submit their licence number to the authorized distributor. Any angler wishing to fish the Inny during this period will have to do so using Catch and Release methods only.

The authorized distributor is;

A valid National or Kerry licence number for 2017 must be submitted with name, address and contact number to the authorized distributor only, up to 2 days before each lottery.

In order to ensure that the tags are distributed as evenly as possible, if an angler receives a tag in any of the draws, whether or not they use it throughout the season, they cannot enter any of the 'remaining draws.

If an angler decides to finish their season early, we would encourage them to return the tag to the authorized distributor so as it can be put back into the pool of tags for the next draw.

Any angler wishing to fish the Inny River without a brown tag assigned to their licence must do so using catch and release methods only:

 Anglers may not use worms.  Anglers must use single, barbless hooks at all times.

The fish must be handled carefully and should not be removed from the water prior to release.


Brown tags cannot be transferred between licence holders without contacting the authorized distributor before the tag has been transferred.

Update
No Boats out and wind wasn't all quite on the SW front as all ready stated


Lough Currane is at a standstill with strong SE WIND BLOWING, don't think that there will any fishing today ? Will Update you tonight and if I don't you will know my net is down.

1/2/17 lough Currane was at a standstill with SW  gales  blowing across the Lake and thats the full story of the day, I could add more but that would be bar talk, so we will stick with no Spin No Flys just Facts.
