On May 4th,
June. There have been no reports of any Catch & Release Salmon or Sea
Trout. Therefore, we turn our attention to a retrospective view from The
Currane anglers. We invite Mr. Bill Bullick to share his perspective on this
matter.
Thank you,
Vincent, as always. We should now be in
peak seatrout season. Just 10 years ago, boats were coming in with 2-4 trout
every day. I know because I was there. Fish averaged 2.5-3lb, with the odd
specimen. How things have changed. All
because of the criminal decision to allow fish farms to expand adjacent to
Ireland's most valuable remaining seatrout fishery. That scuppered my plans
(and my friends' plans) to spend significant periods of our retirement in
Waterville. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. Frank & Anne
Donnelly were excellent hosts and we really enjoyed the area - with its
friendly people and excellent restaurants. We loved the place. I can only
imagine how the professional ghillies feel. 😡
Today's weather conditions for Currane anglers include gentle to fresh winds, variable from WNW to W, WSW, and W, accompanied by cloud cover and occasional showers. Yesterday's weather recorded a rainfall amount of 0.7 mm, a maximum air temperature of 14.7°C, and 5 hours and 1 minute of sunshine.
