Rain drops keep falling, and its about time Lough Currane had some liquid refreshment, and in the words of Mr. Terence Wharton Jnr, the Commeragh is slowly on the rise, and just for the record Mr. Bob priestly was also telling me this evening, that his jam jar had ¾ of a inch of rainfall and still rising. Now to today’s facts as given to me by my Noble anglers, first in the striking zone, a guest fishing with Mr. Neil O’Shea caught one junior, staying in the junior class, Guests fishing with Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, caught four Junior’s, now I head for the Commeragh, where there was some fine action, Mr. Terence Wharton Jnr, caught 3 Sea Trout all in the 2lbs class, and in his words, all on the fly, and all in the Mouth, and a Guest fishing with Mr. Terence Wharton Snr, caught a 6lbs specimen Sea trout, also caught on the fly, in the Mouth of the Commeragh. In the trolling department, Mr. Bob Priestly caught two Juniors, and last but not least, Mr David Wallace and Mr. Tim O’loughlin caught four sea trout from the Junior class up to 1,5lbs fishing with their gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly, and just for the record there were quite a few boats out, and some anglers haven’t recorded their catches, thats if they caught anything . Wind S fresh to strong, and strong enough that some boats left the Lake by lunchtime. Sea Trout on the run, Mr. Frank Donnelly was telling me that last night there was a great run of Sea Trout going through Waterville Bridge, and Frank was also saying, it’s the best they have seen in years, so that is great news.

The World Cup, got German Angler’s Mr. Ralf Weder and his is good friend Mr.Achin Heun, up early to go fishing, and I can tell you it wasn’t long before they were celebrating, because they caught a 5lbs Grilse on the troll, with their Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea, and they finished the day off by giving England a good thrashing in the world Cup, so congratulations in both departments, staying in the Grilse department, Mr. Michael O’Dwyer, caught a Grilse on the early shift. In the Sea Trout department, there were few boats out, but no reports of any real rod benders, and if there were, those anglers failed miserably in their duties in reporting their catches? News just in Mr. Judge Jean-Baptiste fishing with his Gille Mr. Terence Whartom, caught two Sea Trout,on the fly, ranging from 2lbs to 1.5lbs.

In the words of Mr. Jim Sayers, it was hard work out there, and it was hot, it was a pity the same couldn't be said for the fishing, even though there was a 2lbs Sea Trout caught by a guest fishing with his gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan, also a guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Terence Wharton lost a salmon on the troll, and that was Lough Currane’s ration on the day shift. roll on evening shift. Wind SW then veered SSW light to fresh with bright sunshine all day.
