Damian presents the Paddy Carey Cup |
14/2/17 At last the waiting is over as the ice melted on Lough Currane today, Local Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of
www.fishingwithdom.com took the Bull by the horns or I should say Rapalas, while fishing on his own early this afternoon caught the first 9 lbs. Salmon of 2017 while trolling along the North Shore as other anglers looked on with envy and I can tell you the first port of call was the Waterville Inn to be presented the Paddy Carey Memorial Cup by the Landlord Mr. Damian Duff and I can tell you the Beer is flowing this Valentines evening. On a personal note it was nice to see that my words of wisdom of no spin No fly’s were brought out in practice and if you read Saturdays notes today’s fish kept Lough Currane record intact. Wind S fresh with good cloud cover and just for the record there were a good few Kelts caught today.
