23/4/20 Same
story, same place and same weather as Lough Currane gets lower and the Currane
anglers blood pressure rises. Wind light to calm West with reasonable cloud
cover. Yesterday’s weather, maximum air temperature 18.7 centigrade. On that
note we will head for Lough Currane memories of years gone past.
Today’s story
0f the past on Lough Currane, by Mr. Murray Beatts of the U.S.A.

Murray
Beatts and Sean Bric, on my 24th Birthday, May 6th, 1978, I and Sean caught a 10
lb Salmon with my Gillie Paddy Sullivan. Strangely enough, the last time I
fished Waterville lake prior to that, was my 18th, 1972, with Bric and Tom
Sullivan! On that date, I also caught a 10 lb Salmon. So, this was in the
nature of a hat trick! Now my last trip last year staying in the Butler Arms
and www.butlerarms.com I caught two
Grilse one the troll and a 6 lb grilse on the fly. I hoped to return this year
but we all know the story in that. Will be back next year if the world survives!
Tight lines, Murray.
