On April 4,
2025. We report the sad news of the passing of renowned GAA player, manager,
and businessman Mick O'Dwyer. On behalf of all Currane anglers, the residents
of Waterville, the Kingdom of Kerry, and the Island of Ireland, we extend our Sincere
Sympathies to the O'Dwyer family—especially his wife Geraldine, his sons John,
Karl, and Robert, his stepdaughter Emma Shields, daughters-in-law Geraldine,
Mary, Sandra, and Liz, and his cherished grandchildren Shane, Amy, Lynn,
Pierce, Dylan, Clodagh, Lauren, as well as his step-grandchildren Holly,
Cathal, and Emily.
On a
personal note, Micko was known for his generosity; he would always stop and
offer you a lift if you were on the road. The photos taken just after 4 PM show
the good people of Ireland paying their last respects and offering a heartfelt
farewell to Waterville’s one and only Mick O'Dwyer Rest In Peace
