16/4/2026

Backdated to 14th April

First, my apologies to Currane angler Mr. Axel Zurbrugg of Germany for not reporting his fine catch sooner. While out trolling with his Gillie, Mr. Neil O’Shea, Axel caught and released a cracking 15 lbs Salmon. A fine fish and a fine bit of sport, and well deserving of recognition.

Now back to the Present – 16th April

As for today’s proceedings, the Currane anglers reported that it was wild out there, and by all accounts all lines were slack. Not a single rod was bent, and the lake kept her secrets firmly to herself.

Weather, Wind: Moderate to fresh, veering to strong at times, all from the SSW Conditions: Testing, lively, and not for the faint-hearted. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rain fall 19.8mm, maximum temperature 13.3°C, amount of sunshine 1 hour 9 minutes
