Straight to the action and the trolling department, first in the striking zone was local gillie Mr. Eric Jouen of Waterville Boats and of watervilleboats@gmail.com who caught a fine 10 lbs Salmon, next in the striking zone was local Gillie Mr. Mike O’Dwyer, who caught a fine 11.½  lbs Salmon on the troll. Now for today’s weather chart, wind NNW light with bright sunshine and you can say without any fear of contradiction there weren’t any wet arse’s just red faces for those who didn’t catch my Noble Salmon. On an updating point of view there is a lot to be said for Wi-Fi Just for the record there was 21.7 mm of rainfall yesterday.

All quiet on all fronts, be it fly or troll, so we will go straight to the weather, it has been raining all day and has made another reasonable flood and the amount of rainfall yesterday was 14.3 mm. Now quote of the day, I text renowned Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com I text ‘any good?’ he replied, just a wet arse, I asked him is that a quote? ya!! He replied. That puts today’s manipulations in its proper prospectus. All quiet on the SW front in all departments and that includes texts that are sent out and not received back, remember its not what you can do for Salmon and Sea Trout Blog, its what you can do for the Waterville Fishery and the good people of Waterville and the surrounding towns and villages of this great community.

All quiet today after the weekends excitement. Wind NW fresh with reasonable cloud cover. So we will head out to the North Atlantic, Waterville saw big spring tide this morning so here are some pictures of the Wild Atlantic.

Lough Currane was on the wild side this morning with a strong SW blowing down the lake, but this didn’t deter Angers from manipulating, so lets get down the action. First in the striking zone was Mr. Andrew Wishart of Co Down, who caught a fine 10 lbs Salmon on the fly, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com Now to the trolling department, Mr. Peter Keenan was in good form again with a 11 lbs Salmon caught on the troll while fishing with his gillie Mr. Bob Priestley. Back to the weather, wind in the morning as already stated, but come afternoon it slackened.

March got off to a good Start for Mr. Peter Keenan and for good reason, he caught a lightening fresh 9 lbs Salmon on the troll while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Bob Priestley, and just for the record there were a few Kelts caught on the troll, 4 were reported. Now for comment of the day which comes from a renowned local Butcher from Caherciveen, any thing caught today Vince? Yes I replied, Bob caught a fine 9 lbs Salmon on the troll, that’s good but could you please tell me when a Local Gillie will catch one, well my Noble Butcher, being a blow in myself I can’t comment, mind if you read this first class Blog it would beg to differ, all I can say is your comments are medium rear to well-done. Wind SW Moderate and overcast with misty rain and heavier at times. Amount of rainfall for February, 292.4 mm. last year there was 77.7mm
