5/7/14 There was some good fishing on Lough Currane today after yesterdays small flood. First in the fly   zone, with two fine Grilse in the 3 to 4 lbs. class, was Mr. Ben Johnson of the UK, and finished his day off with a C&R Sea Trout in the 3 lbs. class, While fishing with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com and staying with Mr. Neil O'Shea, yesterday I reported incorrectly that Joe Johnson, only caught 1 Sea Trout and in actual fact he caught 3 fine Sea Trout on the fly all in the 2 lbs. class. Sorry for this discrepancy. Staying at the Bungalow, Mr. Neil Atkinson caught a fine Sea Trout of 2 ½ lbs. on the fly. While fishing with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com Neil was going to celebrate his Sea Trout with a cuppa tea but in the words of his Gillie, no tea after 4 pm union rules, so they all headed for the Waterville Inn for AA meeting with a good pint of Guinness. Now we cut across the Lake to the Southside and the hired out boat department of www.lakelandshouse.com an angler fishing on his own caught a fine grilse on the troll. Staying with the South Side, Mr. Kevin O’Sullivan of Lake road Waterville caught a fine Sea Trout of 2 lbs. on the drift, now we cut back to the north side, Mr. Donagh McCarthy of the USA and Waterville caught a fine Grilse on the troll with his Gillie. Now we head back to the Sea Trout fly department, Mr. Colin Lynam caught 3 Sea Trout on the fly, fishing with his Gillie MD, and in MD’s back date department, yesterday Mr. Colin Lynam caught 4 Sea Trout up to 4 lbs again all caught on the fly. Wind NW light with showers. Amount of rainfall yesterday was 14.7 mm.

  1. Were all the mentioned sea trout "kept" ... and do you report "your" catches also on the pages of "Inland Fisheries Ireland"?

  2. Thanks for that and I do report for the Inland Fisheries,
on the C&R if you don't see the C&R 9 out of 10 times they have kept their catches, on a personal note I agree with your opinion
