The Big Lake/ Lough Currane
18/9/2022 As I said last night, don’t be surprised of an update
and sadly there is, about the one that got away, so here is Mr. Paul O’Leary’s
story of the day, while flyfishing on the drift I hooked a fine Sea Trout in double
figures, as I got the net ready I could see quiet clearly it was a Sea Tout over
10 lbs plus and when I went to net the Sea Trout he was gone before I got the
chance to put the net in the water. Staying with Paul’s loss, just for the
record another boat did witness Paul’s Fish.
Now today’s fine action and their back, yes you have it, The
Hampshire Hogs and were in flying form today on the World famous Butler Pool
and at www.watervillegolflinks.ie
Hampshire Hog Nigel Henshaw caught a
fine Grilse on the fly and his good friend and fellow Hampshire Hog Trevor Dewberry
also caught a Grilse on the fly and staying with The Hampshire Hogs we head up
stream to Lough Currane, Hampshire Hog, Peter Ruffle caught a fine Grilse and
some good Sea Trout of which the best was in the 3 lbs class. Just for the
record the Hampshire Hogs were fishing with Waterville boats and at watervilleboats@gmail.com
and fishing out of www.cliffordbandb.com
Wind SSW light and variable and sunny with a bit of cloud at times.
