22/7/2023

22/7/2023 Lough Currane was a lonely lake today as the rain poured on the Waterville fishery, so as you can imagine some Currane anglers were heading for the C&R Inny and other anglers heading for the Commeragh hoping to catch a wild Atlantic Salmon on their flies. Talking of flies or lies it has been reported to me there is a bit of skulduggery, as the rain fell the worms came to light and one angler isn’t amused and made it quite clear in a text to me today, but I have to say I personally have no proof of this but as an angler wants to have his or her voice heard so be it, this a No Spin No Fly’s just Facts Blog, so on that note the stage is yours Michael.

Hi Vincent I have a questions for you I thought because of the seatrout catch and release in Waterville lake that worming was banned on the lake and on the Commeragh river is this true, well if it is true the rules are being broken because the Commeragh is being wormed all the time I’ve seen it for myself today and the last 2 weekends. How is this allowed why don’t the angling club stop the slaughter it’s ridiculous. Regards Michael.
