There was some good action on Lough Currane today and I start with catch of the day, two Guests fishing with their Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly and of www.lakelandshouse.com  caught two Salmon one on the troll, and one on the at the Ship on the fly, on their way home, not bad, a Trout and two Salmon in two days, also in good form was Mr. Jeremy O’Connor who caught a lightening fresh Salmon on the troll with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea and @ tomsfishing@eircom.net now to the weather front, one minute the lake was flat calm the next minute it was a raging inferno and in the words of Mr. Neil O’Shea and www.oshealoughcurrane.com there was one massif deluge, so heavy in fact one had to bail the boat.

Lough Currane was on the wild side with a strong SW wind blowing across the Lake but this didn’t deter My Noble Anglers from heading out, and I can tell you there was one young happy angler and that was Master Finn Lichtenberg of Holland, because he caught his first ever Salmon, just over 9lbs on the troll with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea and @ tomsfishing@eircom.net  Now to the fly department A guest fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly and of www.lakelandshouse.com caught a Sea Trout. Now to the evening shift, Mr Martin Lanigan O’Keeffe caught a 7lbs Salmon on the fly, at the ledge with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy.          

There was no reports of any rod benders in the Salmon department. The same couldn’t be said up stream on the Commeragh River, an angler caught 1 Salmon.  Wind S fresh and overcast. Amount of rainfall yesterday 23.5mm.

There was a reasonable flood early this morning, which was no harm, and because of this the best fly fishing stations were out of commission because of dirty water coming down both river systems, but with all the elements against we Noble Anglers, Mr Antony Buckley of Cork, caught a 5lbs7ozs Salmon on the troll in Edry Bay, with his Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea and @ tomsfishing@eircom.net  Wind S fresh to strong at times and overcast with the odd light shower in the afternoon.

Mr Walter Ruche, of Switzerland and his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com were the toast of Game fishing on Lough Currane today in all departments because Walter finished his holiday on a high with a fine 10.lbs.4 Salmon on the troll and finished the day of with a 5lbs.4 Salmon on the fly at the Ledge. Wind the same as yesterday with light drizzle in the late afternoon.

Mr. Michael Schultz of Berlin Germany, who I might add has been coming too Waterville well over twenty years, caught a fine 7.5lbs Salmon on the troll and finished the day off with a fine 3.5lbs Sea Trout caught on the fly with his Gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com Wind ESE fresh and overcast and cold.

There were a good few boats out fishing, but there is only one Angler that hit’s the Lough Currane head lines this Sunday and that is Mr. Michael O’Driscoll of Ovens Co Cork, because he caught a cracker of a Salmon of 11.5lbs on the drift on a Bibio, fishing in a hired out boat from Waterville Boats and @ watervilleboats@gmail.com Wind SE ENE veered back SE and overcast.
