7/4/2023 This Good Friday may have been a good day for the sale of Easter Eggs sadly the same couldn’t be said for the Currane anglers as ten boats headed out on to Lough Currane and by all accounts their lines stayed slack. Wind South 37 Km/h with gusts up to 48 Km/h.

 6/4/2023 Local Currane angler Mr. Bob Priestly caught a fine 10 lbs. Salmon on the troll today and for the rest of the Currane it was all quiet in all departments. Wind North light and variable and bright and sunny.

 5/4/2023 Straight to the action in the fly department and first in the striking zone was Renowned Currane fly angler Mr. Tommy Duggan of Kilkenny. While fly fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com

caught a cracker of a lightening fresh 13 lbs. Salmon and as you can see the picture tells today’s story. Now we stay in the fly department and its great to report Lough Currane has another first to add to its history so its congratulations to local Currane fly angler Mr. Owen Moriarty who caught his first 11lbs. Salmon on the fly, may it be the first of many and as you can see the celebrations of the first of many was in the Villa. Wind light WSW veered West and veered again later in the afternoon into the NW. Amount of rainfall yesterday was 8.4 mm. Just for the record Currane Fly Angler Mr. Tommy Duggan was fishing out of the Crescent Bed and Breakfast and at  www.thecrescentwaterville.ie

 4/4/2023 There were 7 boats out today and all was quiet on all fronts and in the words of the flyman of www.fishingwithdom.com and I quote, no good. Wind South light to fresh and overcast, come lunchtime the rain lashed down and still is, it will be interesting to see how big the flood is and staying with the rain the amount of rainfall for March was 185.9 mm and that doesn’t include mountainous rain fall.

3/4/2023 Just four boats out this day and by all accounts all lines were slack, be it fly or troll. Wind SSE fresh and overcast all day and that sums up today’s manipulations.

2/4/2023 Straight to the Currane anglers action, first in the striking zone was local Currane angler  Tam while trolling by the point of the Grassy Island caught a cracker of a 11lbs. Salmon before lunch and as you see by the picture it was a fine Salmon, so congratulations to Tam. Now we head for the fly department and yes there is only two Currane anglers names come to mind and yes you have it, Currane fly angler Mr. Benard Rall caught a fine 9 lbs. Salmon. Come early this evening while flyfishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com Just for the record, Mr. Bernard Rall is fishing out of www.cliffordbandb.com Wind SE and veered S light with very little cloud cover.
