12/10/2025

October 12, 2025. On the final day of the 2025 Salmon and Seatrout season, there were no reports from Currane's C&R Trout anglers. It's widely recognised that this has been the worst season in living memory, made worse by the government's apparent indifference towards the wild heritage of salmon and sea trout—a situation whose causes are well known. All I can say is, perhaps one day, wild geese will return and reclaim the Irish waters. On a personal note, I want to thank the Inland Fisheries team and all my followers on the Salmon and Sea Trout blog and Facebook page. The Currane weather chart showed variable winds, ranging from light to gentle East, then veering ESE, SE, SSE, and back to SE, with good cloud cover throughout. Yesterday's conditions included no rainfall, a maximum air temperature of 12.2°C, and 5 hours and 6 minutes of sunshine. Additionally, the Salmon and Sea Trout blog received more views this season than ever before—last month alone saw 386,777 views.
