30/5/17 With all their  tribulations and manipulations, none of the ten boats out today could stimulate a wild Atlantic Salmon or stalk  a Lough Currane Specimen Sea Trout successfully. In defense of the angler's, they would say it was too bright day, all I can say is the fish were too bright today, if you get my drift!  Well at least my Noble Game fish were smiling with jubilation as they give my Noble angler's a Winston Churchill this day, as my Noble Anglers drown their sorrows with a liquid libation and discuss their failures of the day. 29/5/17 All the Salmon fly headlines come from the Southside of Lough Currane, So straight to the fly action, UK angler Mr. William Smith, while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com caught a cracker of a 9 lbs. Salmon this morning and fair play to William, there’s nothing like having your reel do the talking as the rest of the angling community listened to the Lough Currane anthem and watched with envy. Just for the record there were six boats manipulating this day. Wind W light to fresh at times with reasonable cloud cover. Yesterdays weather, amount of rainfall 1.1mm. Maximum air temperature 18.5c.

28/5/17 All the Salmon headlines come from the North Shore and the Bungalow, Cork angler, Mr. Don Spicer, caught a lightening fresh 5 lbs. Grilse on the troll, while fishing with his gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com now we head for the Sea Trout department,  German fly angler, Mr. Markus Kruse, while fishing with Gillie, caught and released a fine 1.½ lbs. Sea Trout and considering there was hardly any wind he did well with his fly rod and what wind was there came from the West, light to calm and there was good cloud cover at times. Now for the rest of the angling news and quote of the day comes from the silent Gillie, did you know silence is golden and it certainly was where the other anglers were concerned and I wonder why, I will leave the rest to your imagination! Yesterdays weather 2.8mm of rainfall maximum air temperature 15.6c

27/5/17 There were six boats manipulating their flies and stimulating their lures this day and with all their efforts no angler could get their reel to do their talking so they could have the bragging  rights in the bar this evening, sadly all they could brag about was their failures in their ability to catch a Wild Atlantic Salmon or a premier specimen Sea Trout. Wind NW light to fresh with bright sunshine all day. Yesterdays weather, amount of rainfall 6.4mm. Maximum air temperature 20.7c.

26/5/17 German angler Mr. Markus Kruse was in great form again today with his fly rod and for good reason, he caught a fine 8 lbs. Salmon on the fly, while fishing with is Gillie and in the words of his client Mr. Markus Kruse, 3 days fly fishing 3 Salmon, we’ve had perfect 3 days and there is no argument to that, I would call it the Grand slam of Lough Currane fly-fishing! I said to his Gillie, you and Markus have a nickname, it’s the silent anglers, did you know that? The Gillie replied that I do, I asked why the silent anglers, he replied simple we let the reel do the talking. For the rest of the angling community their reels were silent as the Lambs, Wind SE light to fresh with heavy showers throughout the day. Yesterdays weather, maximum air temperature 22.5c.

25/5/17 You certainly can’t knock a good fly angler down and German angler Mr. Markus Kruse is a perfect example of that today and for good reason, he caught a cracker of a 11 lbs. Salmon on the fly while fishing with his Gillie and on that note I will finish this evenings notes in the words of Mr. Markus Kruse, and I quote, well its first class fly-fishing at this lovely place! I replied, can I put that up on the Blog and he said of course, that’s the reason why I’ll always read your Blog. Looking at what’s happening during the day. All I can say is thanks for that.
