31/7/17 Mr. Carlos Gutierrez from Columbia was the toast of the Lough Currane C&R Salmon department today and for good reason, Carlos finished this last day of July with a bang and a cracker of a 18 ¼ lbs. Salmon caught on the troll and by all accounts Carlos had a good battle with his mighty 18 ¼ lbs. Salmon and his Father finished their day off with a fine C&R 3 lbs. Grilse and I can say without any fear of contradiction today’s anglers from Columbia and their Gillie Mr. Neil O‘Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com went above and beyond their call of duty and did it in style and I can understand why, they call The Bungalow The Home of the Waterville Fishery. Wind W fresh with good cloud cover. Yesterdays weather, amount of rainfall 8mm. Maximum air temperature 16.5c.

30/7/17 Going by the Lough Currane post and telegraphs department there were just three boats out this day on Lough Currane and my Noble anglers were  manipulating the flie department and the trolling department and all three boats came up with the same common denominator and the same words of wisdom at their end of their day, their common denominator was the big 0 and yes their words of wisdom and I quote, Vincent is right again, we did fail miserably in our duties in all departments and even the good Doctor couldn’t find the cure! Even tough you might think I’m coming out with manure! But it’s still No Spin No Fly’s just Facts. Wind West fresh with good cloud cover with showers. Yesterday’s weather, amount of rainfall 0.4mm, Maximum air temperature 16.0c.

29/7/17 Here are the game fishing headlines, My Noble anglers were fishing as if they had a raging toothache as their vibrations went down the line with agony and despair with their failure in rising or luring a wild Game Fish or if you like their angling skills have a lot to be desired this day as they failed miserably in their duties in all departments. Wind West light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover. Yesterdays weather, amount of rainfall 1.1mm. Maximum air temperature 16.4c.

28/7/17 What can I say about the Waterville Anglers on their performance today, well it’s simple, they all failed miserably in their duties in all departments Need I say more, I will if a late report comes in so watch this space. Wind WSW fresh with good cloud cover. Yesterdays weather, amount of rainfall 2.4 mm. Maximum air temperature 16.7c.

27/7/17 Straight to the South side and the fishing station of www.lakelandshouse.com French Angler Miss Manson Filippi, caught a cracker of a 3 lbs. Sea Trout, while fly fishing with her Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com and I can say without any fear of contradiction this angler and her gillie didn’t fail miserably in their duties and it’s a pity I can’t say the same for the rest of the Waterville anglers! But I could be eating my words if a late report comes in. Wind West fresh to strong with good cloud cover with the odd shower. Yesterdays weather, amount of rainfall 8.6mm. Maximum air temperature 16.9.

Sorry for the delay and I forgot to cut across the Lake to the North Shore and the Bungalow and the Sea Trout fly department. German caught two fine Sea trout both in the 2 ½ lbs. class, while fishing with his gillie Mr. Neil O’Shea of www.oshealoughcurrane.com              

26/7/17 All the Game fishing headlines come from the South side, so straight to the Salmon and Sea Trout fly department, Mr. Mark Whelan, while fly fishing with his Gillie Mr. Frank Donnelly of www.lakelandshouse.com caught a fine 6 lbs. Salmon and finished his day off with three nice Sea Trout all in the 1 lbs. class. And for the rest of my Noble Anglers there was no comment on this fine catch, all I can say jealousy will get you nowhere and my advice is, get a few rod benders and your problem will be solved. Wind NW fresh to strong with good cloud cover with the odd shower. Yesterdays weather, amount of rainfall 11.2mm. Maximum air temperature 18.2c.

Breaking news on the Salmon front; German anglers, fishing with their gillie Mr . Frank Donnelly  of www.lakelandshouse.com on Lough Currane caught a fine  5 lbs. Salmon on the troll . and in the hired out boat fly department of www.oshealoughcurrane.com caught and released  four fine Sea Trout on the drift.

25/7/17 Lough Currane was all quiet on the SW front in all departments, so on that note we head for the upper lakes and Lough Namona and in the words of local Gillie Mr. Tom O’Shea of www.flyfishingatloughcurrane.com on Lough Namona today, flat calm all day what do you expect miracles and I think that puts today’s fishing conditions in its proper prospectus. Wind S light to calm and overcast with heavy rain at times this evening. Yesterdays weather, maximum air temperature 18.7c.
