3/5/14

Mr. Mike O'Driscoll
3/5/14  I start today’s notes with a backdate, and a failure on my part to report a fine Salmon caught last night in a hired out boat from Waterville boats and at watervilleboats@gmail.com  so on that note I will let Mr. Mike O'Driscoll tell his story in his words, Caught this evening off grassy point, on fiery brown size 10 fly
Great sport on the trout fly rod.
10.5lbs approx. Netted by the best nets man in the west John Mc Sweeney. Regards
Ger and Jim
Mike O Driscoll. All I can say is, John maybe the fastest nets men in the west, well in the reporting department, I am the slowest reporter in the SW in other words I failed miserably in my duties in all departments. Now back to today’s action on Lough Currane, Mr. Jim Sayers fishing with his good friend Ger, take all the head lines, they caught a fine fresh Salmon in the 10 lbs. class on the troll on the South Side. Now we head upstream to Lough Derriana and young Gillie in the making, Master Fionan Brain was in great form, I will let his Father tell the facts, A fun day out. Mr. Noel Clancy of Waterville and Sion Brain fishing with their young Gillie four year old Fionan Brain, caught over 50 Brownies on light tackle in the fly department and the trolling department. Wind S light with good cloud cover.
