29/5/15 There was some great fly fishing on Lough Currane today so lets get to all the facts. We start on the North side and Waterville Boats Harbour and at watervilleboats@gmail.com UK Hampshire Anglers, Mr. Trevor Dewberry, caught a fine 3 lbs. Sea Trout on the Bibio fly while fishing with his Gillie Mr. Michael O’Sullivan at watervilleboats@gmail.com his good friend Mr. Peter Ruttel, fishing with his Gillie Mr. Dominic McGillicuddy of www.fishingwithdom.com caught a fine 2 ½ lbs. Sea Trout also on the fly,  staying with the Hampshire Conquerors, Mr. Nigel Henshaw, caught his first ever Salmon and he did it in style while casting his Red Ass Green Peter fly at the point of Fur Island fishing a Intermediate Trout Fly line, Nigel was telling me that it took the best part of 45 minutes to play his Salmon and as it came to the surface his Gillie MD took one swipe and the celebrations began and are drinking the Waterville Bars Dry this evening as I write theses notes. All I can say is may it be the first of many, Cheers! Now to the specimen Sea Trout department, Mr. Justin Clayton-Jones of the UK caught a cracker of a Sea Trout of 9 lbs. on a size 10 Bibio on a floating line with a sinking tip. Justin was fishing with his good friend Mr. Pete Maxi and their Gillie Mr. Sylvester Donnelly of Lake road Waterville. Last but least Dr. Neil Anderson, caught a fine 2 ½ lbs. Sea Trout on the drift. Wind NNW light to fresh with reasonable cloud cover.
