 29/8/2026. The Littell flood last night certainly put a bit of life into the system, and it showed on Lough Currane today. With at least four boats out, there was one Salmon caught on the troll, and a fair few Brownies were brought to the net on the fly, keeping the rods warm and the reels honest. Heading upstream to the Commeragh, two anglers were seen manipulating their skills with conviction, though sadly they kept their results as quiet as a church mouse. Cutting across the valley to the Inny Farmer, four C&R anglers were on the Inny, and I can report that at least two Salmon were seen landed, good to see the Inny giving a bit of sport after the rise. Now for the Currane anglers’ weather chart, a variable moderate North wind, veering NNW, NW, WNW, and W throughout the day, accompanied by a lively mixture of sunshine and cloud.
