6/6/2026. I’ll start with the Currane quote of the season: a local Gillie summed up the state of the fishery perfectly when he said, “I have never seen the lake so quiet, it’s hard to know if there are any fish around or not when no one is fishing.” Hard to argue with that bit of Currane philosophy, and indeed, not a single boat was reported out today to test the theory.
Now to today’s Currane weather chart: wind fresh to moderate and doing a full
tour of the compass NW veering WNW, then W, WSW, and finally SW, all
accompanied by good cloud cover with the sun breaking through when it felt like
it.
Yesterday’s weather: rainfall 20.3mm, maximum air temperature 14.3°C, and a
grand total of 0.9 minutes of sunshine, which is barely enough time to blink,
never mind sunbathe.
